McCain uses ‘Lord of the Rings’ to make fun of tea party

When it comes to selecting the dumbest state in the union it is usually a Southern State. How about a Southwestern State like AZ?

Having McCain on your side is like living in the same house with Jeffery Dahmer.

Describing the tea party's strategy to force a rewrite of the Constitution by triggering a default, he concluded that their thinking was along the lines of something from "Lord of the Rings."

"And the tea party hobbits could return to Middle Earth having defeated Mordor," he said. "This is the kind of crack political thinking that turned Sharon Angle and Christine O'Donnell into GOP Senate nominees. The reality is, the debt limit will be raised one way or another."

If McCain would have become president we would probably be in the same mess we are now. Only difference...an additional 15 million illegals.

The "war hero" thing which was the only attribute I respected in him is starting to wear pretty thin, and his incessant criticism of Republicans should no longer be tolerated. If he lived in Texas he wouldn't even be a Senator.

2 mad men...2 different flavors of reporting

The Norway killer

Breivik has been identified in the media as a "right wing Christian fundamentalist." The media wasted no time shouting this from the rooftops even before the gun smoke vanished in the air. BTW Breivik is about as Christian as Timothy McVeigh.

By comparison when Nidal Hasan (a psychiatrist who probably got his degree from the Muslim Brotherhood) killed 13 people and then shouted "Allah Akbar", we were told by the media and the administration "not to jump to conclusions." Holder was so befuddled he couldn't even bring himself to say the word Muslim. Liberals crawled from beneath their rocks in number chastising the mere thought Hasan was a Muslim Terrorist.

Am I shocked. Yes. I'm shocked the Norway event wasn't carried out by Muslims. Be honest America. When the story first broke what was the first thing that crossed your mind?

I'm old enough to remember a time when the media
reported the news. The where, the when, the how, and the why.

Kind of like Sgt.Joe Friday on Dragnet.

The media has strayed off course from reporting facts and truth. Instead they marinade it with flavoring, tastiness, tang, relish, and bite.

As one newspaper like's to say...

All the news fit to print.

That is...

After we sift it through our  journalistic subjective sieve.

Scraping the bottom of the barrel

Seems like how low can you go not only applies to Limbo. It is amazing what some networks will resort to out of pure desperation.  The talent pool must consist of the remaining reptiles left in Pelosi's ongoing swamp drainage program.

Lets see... CNN had Sleazebag Spitzer until he was cancelled.
Before that Olbermann bit the dust on MSNBC.
I thought for sure Weiner was going to have a show on texting etiquette.
Followed by The Casey Anthony Show on child rearing.

When CBS's 60 Minutes did a puff piece about Al Sharpton in May, Lesley Stahl revealed the Reverend refuses to say anything bad about President Obama.

On Sunday's "Reliable Sources," former MSNBC contributor Cenk Uygur claimed he might have been replaced by Sharpton in the 6PM time slot because of the "Reverend's" undying devotion to the current White House resident.

How did this all come about? Because the White House did not like the "tone" of Cenk Uygur.

One thing about Uncle Al he is gen-u-wine

There's actually two stories here. One is the over reaching power of this presidency. And the other is all about hypocrisy.

On A tip from Ed Kilbane

The real world

The Rev. Al Sharpton, who has vowed to clean up his fiscal house, has a new tax lien to pay.

Sharpton owes $359,973 to the IRS for 2009 personal income tax, according to documents on file with the city.

Public records show he owes a total of $3.7 million in city, state and federal taxes, including penalties, dating to 2002. But Sharpton's spokeswoman, Rachel Noerdlinger, said that he had paid back "well over seven figures" as part of agreements with the state and IRS and that the liens remained on the books as "a matter of bureaucracy."

Sharpton made $250,000 as head of the nonprofit National Action Network in 2009, a year that ended with the group owing $1.1 million in taxes and having just $36,397 cash on hand.

The organization also pays for first-class or charter travel for Sharpton and other NAN staff, according to its 2009 tax return. Noerdlinger declined to say for whom.

Luckily he didn't pay his taxes so he should fit right in the Obama administration.

Through the annals of time I cannot think of a more inferior waste of skin then Al Sharpton.

Must be a "swamp tiger"

Pelosi calls for ethics investigation of Rep. David Wu

Pelosi has gotten so good at draining the swamp she has become an honorary member of the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge.

Nice outfit

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairman Steve Israel (N.Y.) issued statements Sunday night calling for the House ethics committee to look into the conduct of Rep. David Wu (D-Ore.).

"I call on the Ethics Committee to initiate an investigation into the allegations against Congressman Wu," Pelosi said in the statement. "With deep disappointment and sadness about this situation, I hope that the Ethics Committee will take up this matter."

Wu is alleged to have had a sexual encounter with a woman against her will in late 2010, an episode first reported by the Portland Oregonian. The newspaper reported that Wu has acknowledged the encounter but insisted it was consensual.

One Democratic source said that Wu has decided not to seek reelection in 2012 and the Oregonian and Politico are reporting that he will not. But the congressman's office did not return an e-mail seeking comment Sunday night regarding his plans. He is not expected to resign.

Wu has said nothing specific about the incident with the woman, issuing a statement Saturday calling it "very serious" and adding: "I have absolutely no desire to bring unwanted publicity, attention, or stress to a young woman and her family."

This is the latest allegation of bizarre behavior by Wu at the end of last year — actions that include sending odd pictures to his staff and taking prescribed medication that had not been prescribed to him.

He has already drawn primary challenges from two Democrats — state Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian and state Rep. Brad Witt. Republicans hope to target the Democratic-leaning seat in the Portland area, but are likely to do so only if Wu is in the race.

Easy come easy go

After almost one trillion dollars spent in stimulus he had this to say:

Why can't Americans see they've been had? After almost a trillion dollars wasted he has the balls to act cavalier, laughing about it like he dropped 20 bucks in a Vegas slot machine.

To make matters worse the idiots surrounding him  in this video seem to be caught up in the merriment!

I have come to the conclusion perhaps this country deserves what it gets. Stupid people make stupid decisions. And Obama is certainly one of them.

The Exploitation of Shared Sacrifice

On a tip from Ed Kilbane

Marxism

From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.

Sounds all warm and fuzzy like; doesn't it?

It's one of the reasons for the collapse of the Soviet Union. It doesn't work.

Lets clarify shared sacrifice. 53% of all Americans pay income tax. The other 47% pay nothing. As an American citizen living in this country and benefiting from all it has to offer, shouldn't every American contribute something no matter how small? Suppose you make $10,000 a year. Shouldn't you pay at least 100 bucks... 50 bucks...something? Is that to much to ask? Obama keeps reiterating the phrase invest in America, which actually means collecting more money from the 53% so he can spend it on the 47% who contribute nothing.

We are over 14 trillion in debt and 47% of Americans do nothing to help out. At  some point the 53% are going to get sick of carrying the other 47 on their backs. The... he ain't heavy he's my brother concept...is starting to wear pretty thin.

This should put an end to the debt ceiling debate once and for all

No mention of this from the MSM

On a tip from my brother Gary

-- Senator Barack H. Obama, March 2006

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising
America's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the US Government can not pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government's reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America's debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that, "the buck stops here.' Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve
better."

Isn't this exactly what Republicans have been saying all along?

Talk about a 180. For God's sake this is his own words! What do we need? A house to fall on us?

Folks this is not a BS story. Look it up. A prime example of following what he does, not what he says. Pure and simple he is a hypocrite and a liar. It is hard to believe he was elected president in 2008. It's absolutely mind blowing he took in 86 million in campaign contributions in the last three months!

Has the country gone mad?

Facts are the enemy of lies.

I'm not asking you to pass judgement.  I am asking you to think.

I suppose an honest man shines more in politics then he does elsewhere, but shouldn't a senator keep his word or a president?
Should't he set a high example? Is keeping one's word so extraordinary a thing, when the person achieving that feat is a person of a civilized nation?

America can relax; the Casey Anthony show's over:

Are you relaxed?

Thanks for the heads up Connie. Casey Anthony got away with first degree murder now we can all relax.

The point to this story is what? To write something dripping in liberal goo?

See comment below

 By
Connie Schultz
Cleveland Plain Dealer

The FBI reports that 1,494 children under the age of 18 were killed in America in 2008.

Of these children, 221 died before their first birthday; 338 were murdered between the ages of 1 and 4. Most of us know the name of only one of these victims: Caylee Anthony.

The temptation is to use the next 600 words to decry America's obsession with the murder of one little girl in Orlando, Fla., while we ignore the violent deaths of 1,493 other children.

This is, after all, what columnists do when we're concerned that America is losing its way. We like to tell ourselves that it's just an issue of your being distracted, and that with a few carefully chosen words of outrage, we can redirect your attention to what really matters. What really matters to us, anyway.

This is arrogance on our part, to be sure.

In this case, it's also just as surely magical thinking.

My, how so many of us loved to hate Casey Anthony.

The 25-year-old mother, accused of murdering her 2-year-old daughter, almost single-handedly -- if you don't count the thousands of hours of media coverage -- gave millions of Americans permission to feel judgmental and superior. We like that. A lot.

Anthony's trial, covered gavel to gavel, also made it a whole lot easier not to think about all the other children whose lives are in peril, but invisibly so.

As the Annie E. Casey Foundation reports, for example, three times as many African-American children live in poverty, compared with white children. One in five rural children lives in poverty, too. And one-third of America's children are in families where no parent has a full-time job. None of these statistics makes for compelling television, I realize.

Which brings me back to Casey Anthony, who is young, white and photogenic. She lied. A lot. She also refused to meet our standards for a grieving mother. She was too aloof, too quick with a smile. Her hair, her clothes, her tattoo, her sex life: God, what a mess, we declared, riveted.

Day after day, hour after hour, we had at her.

Strangers traveled hundreds, sometimes thousands, of miles to stand in line for the chance to sit in the courtroom, and then offered their instant expertise to reporters waiting outside. Even the most local of news outlets posted breaking alerts about her trial.

After the jury acquitted her last week of first-degree murder, aggravated manslaughter and aggravated child abuse, Twitter and Facebook exploded with verdicts to the contrary. The judge and defense attorneys say they're concerned about death threats against Casey and the jurors. Because, by golly, that's how you honor a child who's been murdered.

Soon enough, we will forget about Casey Anthony, but not because we'll turn our collective concern to the 15 million children living in poverty, the 17 million who go hungry or the 8.1 million who are uninsured. We like to focus on one at a time.

In 2009, the year after Caylee Anthony was killed, 1,348 more children were murdered in America.

Here's a partial list of the FBI's breakdown:

Infants: 193

Ages 1 to 4: 298

Ages 5 to 8: 72

Ages 9 to 12: 71

Ages 13 to 16: 400

Who among us can name even one?

Great comment by Ed Kilbane

She conveniently forgot to mention the millions of children who are killed in the womb every year!

What would Jesus do?

Censured Veteran Democratic Rep. Charlie Rangel made an impassioned plea to religious leaders Friday, calling on them to lobby members of Congress and the Obama administration to remember the "lesser of my brothers and sisters" (who could be less then him?) during this weekend's debt negotiations.

With the national debt at over 14 trillion and taking up most of Congress’s summer efforts, Censured Rep. Charlie Rangel made a special plea to his colleagues that, in voting on whether to raise the debt ceiling, they consider how Jesus would vote: “What would Jesus do this weekend?”

It's funny how liberals have a general distain for God.
Unless they can use God to advance their agenda.

Come Christmas he and his liberal comrades will bash the Nativity scene at the local church!

Aftermath of the Casey Anthony trial

Multiple choice test

Tragically your child supposedly drowns in the family pool. What should you do?

A. Don't call the police. Wrap the child in plastic bags, don't forget to duct tape the nose and mouth, and drop it in the woods and say your father did it.

B. Go get a tattoo

C. Shortly thereafter make an entry in your dairy "This is the happiest that I have been in a very long time."

D. All of the above

True stories...all but one

On June 24, 1967,  OJ Simpson married Marguerite L. Whitley. In August 1979, Aaren their daughter drowned in the family's swimming pool a month before her second birthday. OJ at the time, had no criminal record and they sadly went about reporting it to the authorities.

On August 9, 1999, William Shatner returned home around 10 p.m. to discover his wife's body at the bottom of their back yard swimming pool. She was 40 years old. He reported her death to the authorities. Shatner has no criminal record. An autopsy detected alcohol and Valium in her blood, the coroner ruled the cause of her death as an accidental drowning.

On June 16, 2008 two year old Caylee Anthony supposedly drowns in the family pool. Her grandfather is a former cop. Her mother Casey has no criminal record. On 12-11-2008 almost six months later, the child is found wrapped up in plastic bags (mouth and nose covered with duct tape) thrown in a laundry bag and then unceremoniously dumped in a wooded swamp. If she drowned in the pool why is her nose and mouth covered in duct tape?

Moral of the story:

If you have a smart enough attorney and a dumb enough jury you can get away with murder.

Casey Anthony displaying her newly acquired tattoo.

"Bella Vita" means "beautiful life" in Italian. Anthony got the tattoo while her daughter Caylee was still "missing".

Geraldo...don't all grieving mothers do that?

Five days after Caylee went missing Anthony entered this in her diary.

"I have no regrets, just a bit worried. I just want for everything to work out ok. I completely trust my own judgment. I know that I made the right decision. I just hope that the end justifies the means. I just want to know what the future will hold for me. I guess I will soon see."

The handwritten diary continues, "This is the happiest that I have been in a very long time."

(Does this sound like a grieving mother or a conniving bitch trying to get away with murder?)

Update:

November 2012. Someone at the household typed in Google search box "Foolproof Suffocation" the day Caylee died. The defense knew about it, the prosecution did not.

Prosecutors never learned about the search because the Orange County Sheriff’s Office didn't know the search existed, even though the department had possession of the family's computer. Instead, the sheriff's office gave prosecutors a spreadsheet with less than 2 percent of the computer’s Internet activity that day.

"There was an oversight,” sheriff’s Capt. Angelo Nieves told the station. “This has been a learning experience for investigators as well.”

Justice will be served Caylee.

Just not on this earth.
