Arafat's last words

The thing about Arafat is he's dead. The day he died was a blessed event for all mankind. He died 8 years ago and just now the Palestinian Authority are digging him up to see if he was poisoned. What do you think the odds are they're going to say he died of natural causes? The stupid Palestinians thought their biggest threat was Israel. In reality it was Arafat.

Yasser Arafat’s remains exhumed to see whether he may have been poisoned

JERUSALEM –The remains of Yasser Arafat, the iconic Palestinian leader who died in 2004, were exhumed from his tomb in the West Bank city of Ramallah on Tuesday as part of an inquiry into whether he might have been poisoned, Palestinian officials said.

The probe was ordered after an investigative report on the Arabic satellite channel Al-Jazeera in July presented what it said was evidence of a poisoning, reviving suspicions surrounding Arafat’s death.

The report prompted Arafat’s widow, Suha, to call for an exhumation, which was later authorized by the Palestinian Authority, which governs parts of the West Bank.

Palestinian officials have long accused Israel of poisoning Arafat, who personified dreams of Palestinian statehood and over decades shifted from embracing terror tactics to negotiating a peace deal, after confining him in his Ramallah compound for more than two years during the second Palestinian uprising.

Israeli officials have dismissed the claims.

Arafat’s remains were disinterred Tuesday at dawn from his tomb in the presidential compound, which was hidden from view by blue tarpaulins. Palestinian doctors took samples and handed them over to French, Swiss and Russian experts, who will examine them in their home countries, officials said.

“The process and the work of the experts began early in the morning, and as far as I know everything went well, and they were able to collect what was needed,” said Nour Odeh, a spokeswoman for the Palestinian Authority.

Arafat died in a French military hospital in November 2004, at age 75, about two weeks after he was flown from Ramallah when his health deteriorated.

Medical records showed that he had died from a stroke caused by a bleeding disorder stemming from an underlying infection that was never identified.

The French hospital found no traces of poison.

But in its televised report, al-Jazeera said it had turned over some of Arafat’s personal effects — including clothing he had worn before his death, his toothbrush and his trademark black-checked head scarf — to the University of Lausanne’s Institute of Radiation Physics in Switzerland, which tested them and found high levels of the very toxic radioactive isotope polonium 210. The items, stored for years, were given to the television channel by Arafat’s widow and taken to the institute for testing.

Polonium was identified as the substance that killed Alexander Litvinenko, a former KGB agent who became a critic of the Russian government. Litvinenko died in 2006 after being poisoned in London.

Following a formal complaint lodged by Suha Arafat, French authorities in August opened a murder inquiry into Yasser Arafat’s death.

Experts at the Swiss institute said Arafat’s remains would have to be examined to corroborate any suspicions of poisoning.

But polonium-210 decomposes rapidly, and it was unclear whether the samples taken on Tuesday, years after his death, would provide any conclusive evidence.

Copied from Wikipedia.

In August 2002, the Israeli Military Intelligence Chief alleged that Arafat's personal wealth was in the range of USD $1.3 billion. In 2003 the International Monetary Fund (IMF) conducted an audit of the PNA and stated that Arafat diverted $900 million in public funds to a special bank account controlled by Arafat and the PNA Chief Economic Financial adviser. However, the IMF did not claim that there were any improprieties, and it specifically stated that most of the funds had been used to invest in Palestinian assets, both internally and abroad.

However in 2003, a team of American accountants–hired by Arafat's own finance ministry–began examining Arafat's finances; this team reached a different conclusion. The team claimed that part of the Palestinian leader's wealth was in a secret portfolio worth close to $1 billion, with investments in companies like a Coca-Cola bottling plant in Ramallah, a Tunisian cell phone company and venture capital funds in the US and the Cayman Islands. The head of the investigation stated that "although the money for the portfolio came from public funds like Palestinian taxes, virtually none of it was used for the Palestinian people; it was all controlled by Arafat. And none of these dealings were made public."

An investigation conducted by the General Accounting Office reported that Arafat and the PLO held over $10 billion in assets even at the time when he was publicly claiming bankruptcy.

Although Arafat lived a modest lifestyle, Dennis Ross, former Middle East negotiator for Presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton, stated that Arafat's "walking-around money" financed a vast patronage system known as neopatrimonialism. According to Salam Fayyad—a former World Bank official whom Arafat appointed Finance Minister of the PNA in 2002—Arafat's commodity monopolies could accurately be seen as gouging his own people, "especially in Gaza which is poorer, which is something that is totally unacceptable and immoral." Fayyad claims that Arafat used $20 million from public funds to pay the leadership of the PNA security forces (the Preventive Security Service) alone.

Fuad Shubaki, former financial aide to Arafat, told the Israeli security service Shin Bet that Arafat used several million dollars of aid money to buy weapons and support militant groups. During Israel's Operation Defensive Shield, the Israel army recovered counterfeit money and documents from Arafat's Ramallah headquarters. The documents showed that, in 2001, Arafat personally approved payments to Tanzim terrorists. The Palestinians claimed that the counterfeit money was confiscated from criminal elements.

When scratching your head won't work

I was flicking through the channels the other day and came upon the "Ed Show". Hard to believe what the hell I was watching.

Here was a white guy so excited I thought he was going to piss his pants. Chris Matthews had a leg cramp compared to this guy! In the year 2024, according to him, there will be so many Hispanics and blacks living in Texas it will become a blue state. Alarming to say the least. But to this guy, watching the demise of his fellow Caucasians was exhilarating. I mean the guy was ecstatic. Undoubtedly if 5 or 6 more red states go blue he'll have to be sedated. Who knew watching the downfall, slowly but steadily, of your own race changing into the new minority could be so mesmerizing? The Democratic party that once existed during the Truman and Kennedy years is no more. Progressives embracing the "browning of America" is the fashionable new way of cutting their own throat without the aid of a knife.  It reminds me of that old Twilight Zone episode when friendly "aliens" came to earth with the goal of how to serve man. Everything worked out fine until the earthlings found out they were the main course.

The electoral map shown below depicts the results of the 1984 U.S. presidential election in which Ronald Reagan defeated Jimmy Carter.

Good, bad, and the ugly

1. Good ...rumor has it Pelosi may be leaving.
(Update: 10:40 AM Good turned bad. She's staying)

2. Bad...rumor has it  John Kerry is under consideration for Sec of Defense. Maybe not, after they watch this video.

video

(So in other words only morons serve in our military; and they're going to make him Sec of Defense!!!)

3. Ugly...rumor has it Hillary is leaving and Susan Rice is taking her place. There is no upside or downside in this one. One is white the other black, they're both ugly, and each can lie like a rug.

PS: Gutfeld said Holder is probably going to stay. He and Barry are so close that when Barry gets hungry Stedman's stomach starts growling.

Smoke Screen

How many times have we heard "Millionaires and billionaires should pay more in taxes?" But the fact is Barry wants to raise taxes on families starting at the $250,000 level. Which is quite a bit different from the rhetoric. The brain dead electorate thinks "fair share" means the greedy rich will have to pay more becoming the panacea to fix all the country's ills. Nothing could be further from the truth. This additional tax would raise about $85 billion a year. Sounds like a lot of money. But at the rate our government spends that will only be enough to operate the government for eight and a half days. Which makes this tax increase almost inconsequential, nothing more then a head fake.  Not a dime of this will go to pay down the national debt and even if it did it's a drop in the bucket. Meanwhile, Barry will run up deficits and the national debt by another four and a half trillion dollars which will put us over 20 trillion in 2016. Isn't it bad enough 47 million are on welfare? Shouldn't fair share mean EVERYONE who has a job should pay SOMETHING in income tax? So you see "fair share" is nothing more then a smoke screen, the red meat, to keep the politically challenged in their rightful place... nestled at his feet.

Since then... when did the economy take a dramatic uptick  we didn't know about?

The Mask

In a realistic sense Obama is not really a president and never was. Pure and simple he is a celebrity. Lets face it.  The electorate is enamored with the guy.

Barry can give great speeches which I first noticed at the 2004 DNC. Although I never heard of him back then I must confess even I was impressed. He popped back on the scene in 2008 and was a smash hit. The Lord himself could have ran for president with Saint Peter as his VP and still lost. The electorate fell in love with his fiery rhetoric and his ability to control the rise of the oceans, but looked the other way when his actions failed to match it. Fast forward to 2012. If Broken promises, flat out lies, and hypocrisy were gold our now swollen $16 trillion debt would be zero. I can prove what I just said with almost 100% certainty. Here's something that I've been mulling around. These were some of the other Democratic contenders in the 2008 primary... Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, John Edwards, Chris Dodd, and Bill Richardson. I submit to you this. Had any one of these five been selected over Obama, and they delivered the exact same dismal record as Obama in 2012, they would have been out on their ear. The only reason Obama is still president is the shear force of his stardom pumped up by his adoring fans in the MSM and a naive, wide- eyed, not to mention stupid electorate.

At the present trajectory the debt will be $20 trillion in 2016. If we're not already there this sure as hell will be the point of no return.  To calculate the jeopardy we're in take a look  at this:

How Much Is A Billion?

The next time you hear a politician use the word "billion" casually think about whether you do, or don't, want that politician spending your tax money!!

A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but an advertising agency did a good job of putting that figure in perspective in one of its releases:

A billion seconds ago, it was 1980.

A billion minutes ago, Jesus was alive.

A billion hours ago, our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.

And....

A billion dollars ago, was only 8 hours and 20 minutes at the rate Washington spends.

Now try to get your head around we are $16 trillion in debt!

Think about this. The government is borrowing 40 cents on every dollar it spends. Now apply that to your own household. If you didn't have enough money to pay your bills and had to borrow 40 cents on every dollar to meet your monthly obligations how long do you think that could continue? We don't have a printing press in our basement to print money like the government. But even though they do the day will come when we have to pay the piper and that day will coincide with the downfall of Obama. Unfortunately it'll be too late.

Why I bother with this I don't know. No one ever listens.

The new minority

I don't know how to quantify this other then to say I feel 10 times worse now then when McCain lost.

FOX is now talking about voter fraud which is horse shit. This was an unmitigated disaster for Republicans. If a Republican couldn't beat Obama with his record there is no hope! The polls were right I was wrong. Whatever grief we take from liberals we deserve.

If you're against deficit spending.
If you're against gay marriage.
If you're against illegal immigration.
If you're against abortion.
If you're against inflating the welfare rolls

Welcome to the new minority. End of story.

You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'

A little background music for your reading enjoyment.

video

From my perspective I see a lot of positive signs comparing the 2008 election to 2012. The pivotal element, the enthusiasm for Barry, simply isn't there. He rode in on the comet of hope and change but that comet has long since flamed out. The 2008 bumper stickers are now old and faded and in most cases not replaced with new ones. Obama signs, which once sprang up like weeds in front lawns all across America are now few and far between. Even his infamous megalomaniacal proclamation at his ascension to the throne "This was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal" sustained a black eye, debunking his role as the Messiah, compliments of Hurricane Sandy. The beginning of the end was foreshadowed in the Chick-fil-A incident when the "silent majority" announced...we had enough. Even Obama Girl's affliction, a crush on Obama, is in a state of remission. Maybe Trump can find him a spot on Celebrity Apprentice. After all, that's all he ever was...a celebrity.

Bomber Barry

Have you noticed Barry has acquired a new jacket. You can't buy it at Wal-Mart, had it custom made. It's a leather bomber jacket.

The fact he never spent one day in the military is of no consequence. It's the show that counts.

I zoomed in on it. On his right there is a patch that proudly proclaims AIR FORCE ONE on his left there is his name tag. Barack Obama (he left the H out) COMMANDER IN CHIEF it says.

I guess he needed a reminder that he is supposed to be the president.

With all the TV shows he does it gets a little confusing... Letterman, Leno, The View, MTV, ET, Fallon, Nickelodeon, The Daily Show etc. His forte as a talk show celebrity is renowned... the presidential crap really can get in his way. Well, all is not lost. After November 6th, when he no longer has a job, I'm sure Trump can find him a spot on Celebrity Apprentice. Then again, how long do you think it would be before Trump says..You're Fired?

I got to give him credit for one thing and this may sound like a contradiction but it goes along with his zest to be a celebrity. He is the greatest campaigner I have ever seen. If fact he is so great he campaigned his way right through the presidency.

You make the call on November 6th

Mitt vs Barry

Remember...
the two major characteristics  you look for in a president is honesty and competence.

Don't forget that when you go to the voting booth November 6th.

(And this ain't the half of it.)

By any measurement Barry should be a 30 point underdog but thanks to the media they're neck and neck.

Don't believe the polls. Believe your heart.

It's time for a change... and THIS time for the better.

I'm Mitt Romney and I approve this message
