Where the Real green goes for green companies

After digesting this story I came to the conclusion there's more going on here then the perpetual ineptness and stupidity.

Solyndra Investigation Begins Critical Look at Federally Funded Green Ventures

The solar energy firm Solyndra was once the poster child of the Obama administration's efforts to create green jobs. Now, it's the target of both criminal and congressional investigations.

"Because there's so much concern about where the money went, how it was spent, and is there fraud and abuse," said Cliff Stearns, R-Fla., chairman of a House subcommittee investigating Solyndra.

And Ronnie Greene of the Center for Public Integrity notes that Solyndra was key in the Obama administration's efforts to promote alternative energy.
"It really was in a lot of ways the flagship because it was the first energy loan guarantee by the administration and it was announced with great fanfare back in 2009," he said.

Solyndra got a $535 million loan from the federal government, the first in tens of billions of dollars in loans to green companies, which President Obama personally touted in a visit to the company last year.

Where the Real green goes for green companies

But earlier this week, the FBI and the inspector general of the Energy Department raided the company's offices.

An outside investigation of the loan to Solyndra found that earlier this year, the company asked the federal government for more time to repay the loan, which resulted in a very unusual arrangement.

"As part of that agreement," Greene said, "the Department of Energy was allowed to sit in on board meetings of Solyndra incorporated."

That suggests to Greene and others that the administration should have had some sense that the company, along with taxpayers' money, was in jeopardy.

"These are the key months in which Solyndra's fortunes really failed," Greene said. "They really fell down, so it's important to hear from DOE on what did you see, what did you hear, did that raise alarm bells with you?"

The founder and other executives of the company contributed and raised large amounts of money for Obama. And they were cozy enough to visit the White House often.

"It appears to be at least 20 times," said Stearns. "So what were they doing at the White House?"

If the White House was objective about the company, he asks, why was it so intimately involved with the company's executives? And why, Stearns and a congressional committee want to know, are hedge funds first in line to get their money back before the taxpayers?

"It's a very unusual arrangement," Stearns said. "I think the Department of Energy has to tell us how they could do this and whether it is, shall we say, breaking the law."

A House committee has subpoenaed the chief executive officer of the company to testify next week. The investigation of Solyndra along with tens of billions of dollars in loans to other green ventures is only beginning.

Pass it right away

If he said it once he must have said it 10 times.

Anyone sense desperation on his part?

Pass what?
He never really elaborated on what it is.

Obama's report card so far has amounted to a large number of exalted speeches backed up by little substance and unfilled promises. His American Jobs Act speech seems to be heading down the same road.
As usual he talks a great game but he consistently lacks substance and the follow through.

My friends that is what always pisses me off about his speeches. They sound great, much better then Bush, and many people want to follow the Pied Piper, but what really sickens me is so many people buy into it and never follow up to see if he does anything he says he is going to do.

Expect me to praise Obama? Of course not. But even I expected more then this.  This speech was supposed to be tantamount to Moses coming down Mt. Sinai with the twin tablets. However, the "new" ideology was nothing more then left over's from the campaign rhetoric during the Darth Vader- Black Bus tour.  He laid out no specifics. This is the brother of... if you want to find out what's in it you have to vote for it.

Baracks Bullshit Bingo

I used to avoid listening to Obama's speeches. Now, I look forward to the next one.
Here is something to help make Obama's speeches almost tolerable. Just print this page, distribute it to friends, then tune in to his next speech........

Rules for Bullshit Bingo:

1. Before Barrack Obama's next televised speech, print your "Bullshit Bingo"

2. Check off the appropriate block when you hear one of those words/phrases.

3. When you get five blocks horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, stand up and shout "BULLSHIT!"

All you need to know about Perry

Prelude to the following story.

Perry has never lost an election and was a pilot in the military but did he just jettison the entire Tea Party?  This guy is McCain in disguise. He is more interested in importing illegals then deporting them.   If I was Romney I'd pounce on this quicker then a Democrat on stimulus! To be honest, I never cared much for Perry and this seals it. In some ways he reminds me of that phony preacher Rev Ernest Ainsley.

BTW did you know Perry supported Al "Global Warming" Gore  in the 1988 Democratic presidential primaries and chaired the Gore campaign in Texas?

Perry's dead in my book.

Perry tells NH no to border fence

By STEVE PEOPLES
Associated Press

Republican presidential candidate, Texas Gov. Rick Perry, speaks to guests at a house party, Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, in Manchester, N.H.

He may have been 2,000 miles from the border, but Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry's immigration record in Texas quickly became the focus in New Hampshire Saturday afternoon.

Speaking to hundreds of Granite State voters at a private reception, the Texas governor was asked whether he supported a fence along the Mexican border.

"No, I don't support a fence on the border," he said. "The fact is, it's 1,200 miles from Brownsville to El Paso. Two things: How long you think it would take to build that? And then if you build a 30-foot wall from El Paso to Brownsville, the 35-foot ladder business gets real good."

I wish I could think of the liberal who first coined that phrase.

The answer produced an angry shout from at least one audience member. And it exposed an ongoing rift with some conservative voters over Perry's immigration record.

Tea party activists in Texas have been particularly upset by his steady opposition to the fence. He also signed a law giving illegal immigrants in-state tuition for Texas universities. And Texas tea party groups sent Perry an open letter this year expressing disappointment over his failure to get a bill passed that would have outlawed "sanctuary cities," municipalities that protect illegal immigrants.

Perry has surged to the lead in national polls since joining the presidential race just three weeks ago. But New Hampshire Republicans are just getting to know him.

Saturday's visit marks the third time he visited the first-in-the-nation primary state since joining the race.

Despite having deep Southern roots and conservative social positions, the Texas native has indicated he will compete aggressively in New Hampshire, where both Republicans and independents vote in the primary election.

Texas ranks high in job creation.  Maybe it's because half the work force is comprised of illegals.
