Major Ice Age Extinctions Caused by Climate Change, Study Reveals

To me this climate change research team below just shot themselves in the foot.

The Earth is approximately 4.5 billion years old. During all that time the Earth's temperature has changed countless times. According to this study... "Wooly Mammoths are extinct because of severe climate change during the Ice Age." Did they bring about their own demise through excessive flatulence? As we all know long before Henry Ford and the Industrial Revolution came along we had climate change. Judging by their own study man bears no responsibility for the extinction of the Mammoth. Which makes the last sentence all the more remarkable.

"For humans today, the only blame of another major extinction will only be placed under our own responsibility."

So climate change is totally controlled by man when their own study shows the opposite.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

A research team from the University of Adelaide and the University of Wales, published a study that reveals that animals from ancient times, such as mammoths and giant sloths, are extinct because of climate change. Short and accelerated warming events recorded from the last glacial age are associated with major extinction of several species, even before the appearance of men.

This result offers a clear path towards understanding what may have caused these extinctions. The common debate between scientists was that some alleged that the direct cause was the “overkilling” of these animals by men; while others believe that it was a consequence of climate changes during the glacial age. Study suggests Wooly Mammoths are extinct because of severe climate change during the Ice Age.

The last glacial period, or Ice Age, goes from 110,000 to 11,650 years ago. It was commonly accepted that extinctions occurred during the cooling parts of climate cycles during this period. However, the new study demonstrates that faunal extinction happened mostly around warming events during the glacial period, specifically before and after the Last Glacial Maximum (from 23,000 to 19,000 years ago). These warming events are known as “Dansgaard-Oescheger events” or just D-O events.

D-O events, although highly investigated, are still not completely understood by specialists. What we know is that they happen nearly 25 times during the Ice Age and are characterized for being periodic climate oscillations. The events show a rapid warming that happened only in decades, followed by a cooling period. Then the cycle repeats. Nonetheless, paleoclimatologists are still uncertain of what causes D-O events.

Is important to understand that the results of the research not only explain the causes of these animals disappearance. It is also a clear warning for what the future holds for humanity. If in fact climate change affects in such magnitude animals of such sizes and resistance, this could mean a bigger danger to our current biodiversity. For humans today, the only blame of another major extinction will only be placed under our own responsibility.

The Political Persecution Of Dinesh D'Souza

On a tip from Ed Kilbane

It’s the old double standard. Who can D’Souza turn to when the MSM has a deaf ear?

Take my pal Edwards indicted on six felony charges of violating multiple federal campaign contribution laws to cover up an extramarital affair to which he admitted to. Edwards was found not guilty on one count, and the judge declared a mistrial on the remaining five charges. The Justice Department dropped the remaining charges and did not attempt to retry Edwards. The bastard never served a day in jail nor did he have “therapeutic counseling".

Same situation with Corzine when over a billion went missing at MF Global. And Killiary will skate on the emails.

-----------------------------------------------

Originally posted at Breitbart by Pamela Geller.

I am no D’Souza fan. One only need watch the debate between Dinesh D’Souza and Robert Spencer at CPAC 2007 to know where I am coming from, but that’s not the point. The idea that Dinesh D’Souza would be hounded and punished for something that Democrats do every day — that’s the point.

In my 2010 book The Post-American Presidency: The Obama Administration’s War On America, I gave the details of illegal contributions to the 2008 Obama campaign — from Hamas-controlled Gaza, no less. No one so much as batted an eye. But the idea that Dinesh D’Souza would have to undergo psychological examination for breaking the rules to support conservatives — that’s a new Stalinist mode of American politics.

Breitbart News reported in September 2014: “In addition to his five-year probation sentencing and eight months of confinement in a community confinement center — or restitution center, which will likely be completed in San Diego, California where D’Souza resides — Judge Berman ordered D’Souza to undergo ‘therapeutic counseling.'”

The idea that Dinesh would have to undergo psychological counseling is Maoist. It’s what Mao Zedong did to intellectuals and political dissidents in China. And as could have been predicted by anyone who is aware of how totalitarians have used psychology as a weapon, the psychological counseling hasn’t gone well. On Monday, Judge Berman “read aloud a report from a court-appointed psychologist who called D’Souza ‘arrogant’ and ‘intolerant of others’ feelings.'” This was in the context of Berman emphasizing that D’Souza had “to do eight hours each week for the entire five years he’s on probation and not just the eight months he was confined to a halfway house.”

Since when did being “arrogant and intolerant” — that according to a court-appointed psychologist — become a crime? The psychologist also claimed that “the client tends to deny problems and isn’t very introspective.” If that were a crime, Barack Obama should be serving a life sentence. If being arrogant and intolerant were a crime, you’d have to arrest the entire mainstream media.

Where is the outcry? Where is America? I don’t care if the enemedia isn’t writing about it. Where are decent Americans? It’s chilling. If Dinesh D’Souza is psychologically damaged in some serious way, so are millions of conservative Americans. And that’s the insidious point of his “therapeutic counseling.”

The persecution of Dinesh D’Souza is the latest manifestation of a disturbing new trend in American politics. After the Benghazi jihad attack on September 11, 2012, Hillary Clinton promised that the maker of the Muhammad film upon whom the Obama administration wrongly blamed the attack, Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, would be arrested. And he was, on the flimsy pretense of a probation violation that was far less serious than comparable violations that U.S. courts and police ignore every day. Whatever the pretense, Nakoula was a political prisoner. He was jailed for blasphemy. And he remained the U.S.’s only political prisoner for a full year. If he hadn’t made the video, he wouldn’t have been in jail. The filmmaker was hunted down like an animal, and was in jail for trumped-up charges in an act of submission and surrender to Islamic law. This was a complete abridgement of our freedom of speech rights.

This was Obama sharia enforcement in America. Obama brought down the gavel on free speech at the UN when he said in the wake of the Benghazi attack, “the future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam.” Now we see, with the persecution of Dinesh D’Souza, that as far as the arrogant and intolerant autocrat in the White House is concerned, the future doesn’t belong to his political opponents, either.

In some Muslim countries, if you leave Islam, you risk being committed to an insane asylum. Is that what we are coming to in the United States? If you dissent from the dominant opinion, you will considered crazy and committed?

All charges against Dinesh D’Souza, and the ridiculous and insidious order that he undergo psychological counseling, should be dropped now — unless every Democrat who has skirted campaign finance laws is likewise prosecuted and persecuted.

The use of the legal system to persecute political opponents is a hallmark of authoritarian regimes. This is how low the Obama administration has sunk.

The Satanic Temple Of The Perverted

Satanic Temple unveils goat-headed statue in Detroit

Nine foot tall statue of Satan unveiled in Detroit

Out of estimated 700 attendees how many voted in the last election? I have no idea... but I bet their wasn't one who voted for Romney.

---------------------------------------------------

A crowd of several hundred gathered Saturday night to see Detroit’s newest resident: A 9-foot, 2,000-pound statue of a goat-headed occult idol named Baphomet.

The Satanic Temple unveiled the bronze figure to an estimated 700 attendees at an undisclosed location. The group’s initial venue canceled after local religious groups protested.

The group’s approach to secrecy with the second venue led to little opposition on Saturday, Director of the Detroit Satanic Temple chapter and national spokeswoman Jex Blackmore told Fox News.

“Protesters arrived for a short time at our first ticketing location, but retreated after only about 30 minutes,” Blackmore said. “One woman attempted to block the event entrance and was removed by the police in cooperation with the building's owner. “

Guests were washed in red light shining down from the rafters at the venue as “dark punk” bands played and DJs performed from a stage located beneath a lighted, upside-down crucifix. Satanic Temple officials delivered speeches and a pair of shirtless men held candles on either side of the statue, prior to its unveiling.

Despite the dark pageantry, however, the Temple says its concept of Lucifer is as a literary figure. “The mission of The Satanic Temple is to encourage benevolence and empathy among all people,” the group’s website states.

The statue will now be stored out of public view until the Temple can find it a permanent home. The group hopes to display it at the Arkansas State Capitol, next to a monument of the Ten Commandments.

Three scientists investigating melting Arctic ice may have been assassinated, professor claims

The wacko making the statement top left.

Top right:  Seymour Laxon fell down a flight of stairs. Was he pushed? Its possible.

Bottom left:   Dr Katherine Giles died when she was in collision with a lorry (truck) when cycling to work in London. Assassinated? Seems unlikely.

...And that's Dr Tim Boyd bottom right in the hard hat, wearing  protection against his assassin... lightning.

------------------------------------------

A Cambridge Professor has made the astonishing claim that three scientists investigating the melting of Arctic ice may have been assassinated within the space of a few months.

Professor Peter Wadhams said he feared being labelled a “looney” over his suspicion that the deaths of the scientists were more than just an ‘extraordinary’ coincidence.

But he insisted the trio could have been murdered and hinted that the oil industry or else sinister government forces might be implicated.

The three scientists he identified - Seymour Laxon and Katherine Giles, both climate change scientists at University College London, and Tim Boyd of the Scottish Association for marine Science - all died within the space of a few months in early 2013.

Professor Laxon fell down a flight of stairs at a New year’s Eve party at a house in Essex while Dr Giles died when she was in collision with a lorry when cycling to work in London. Dr Boyd is thought to have been struck by lightning while walking in Scotland.

Prof Wadhams said that in the weeks after Prof Laxon’s death he believed he was targeted by a lorry which tried to force him off the road. He reported the incident to the police.

Asked if he thought hitmen might have been behind the deaths, Prof Wadhams, who is Professor of ocean physics at Cambridge University, told The Telegraph: “Yes. I do believe assassins possibly murdered them but I can see that I would be thought of as a looney for believing this.

He's right about that.

"But it’s just very odd coincidence that something like that should happen in such a brief period of time.”

He added: “They [the deaths] were accidents as far as anybody was able to tell but the fact they were clustered like that looked so weird.”

Asked who might have wanted them out the way, he replied: “I can only think of the oil lobby but I don’t think the oil lobby goes around killing people.”

He admitted it would have been "stupid" to go to the police with his concerns over the three deaths, not least because he was "suspicious" of the authorities - he cited the example of the death of the government’s weapons expert Dr David Kelly.

Prof Wadhams added: “I thought if it was somebody assassinating them could it be one of our people doing it and that would be even more frightening. I thought it would be better not to touch this with a barge pole.”

His suspicions drew outrage on Saturday from Prof Laxon’s partner, who was also a close friend of Dr Giles. When told what Prof Wadhams had said, Fiona Strawbridge, head of e-Learning at UCL, replied: “Good god. All of this is completely outrageous and very distressing.”

The couple had been staying in a friends’ converted mill in the Essex countryside when her partner fell down the stairs in the early hours of New Year’s Day. He died the next day from head injuries.

“It was very steep stairs and I heard Seymour fall,” said Ms Strawbridge, “It is just completely bonkers [to suggest murder].

"I am sure there are some climate scientists who do get trolled and pursued but Seymour wasn’t one of them. I would have known if anybody had been pursuing him.

“Sometimes there are tragic coincidences and you have to accept that.”

Latest claim about Clinton's email server adds to furor

A statement from the intelligence inspector general, I. Charles McCullough, and his counterpart at the State Department, Steve Linick, said that McCullough's office found four emails containing classified information in a limited sample of 40 emails.

She'll skate on this just like everything else.

-------------------------------------------

By LISA LERER and ERIC TUCKERAssociated Press

WASHINGTON (AP) - A new letter by intelligence investigators to the Justice Department says secret government information may have been compromised in Hillary Rodham Clinton's private server, underscoring an inescapable reality for her presidential campaign: Email is forever.

Clinton, the former secretary of state and now the leading Democratic presidential candidate, wants to focus on the economic issues she and her team believe will drive the next election. But they remain unable to fully escape the swirling questions surrounding her decision to run her State Department correspondence through an unsecured system set up at her New York home.

The inspector general of the U.S. intelligence community recently alerted the Justice Department to the potential compromise of classified information arising from Clinton's server. The IG also sent a memo to members of Congress that he had identified "potentially hundreds of classified emails" among the 30,000 that Clinton had provided to the State Department - a concern the office said it raised with FBI counterintelligence officials.

Though the referral to the Justice Department does not seek a criminal probe and does not specifically target Clinton, the latest steps by government investigators will further fuel the partisan furor surrounding the 55,000 pages of emails already under review by the State Department.

A statement from the intelligence inspector general, I. Charles McCullough, and his counterpart at the State Department, Steve Linick, said that McCullough's office found four emails containing classified information in a limited sample of 40 emails.

"This classified information should have never been transmitted via an unclassified personal system," they said.

For Clinton, the news amounted to a major distraction on a day when she'd hoped to focus on unveiling a new set of economic policies. Instead, she opened her New York City speech by addressing the controversy, decrying some reports as inaccurate.

Some media initially reported that Justice Department had been asked to consider a criminal investigation into whether she mishandled her emails.

"We are all accountable to the American people to get the facts right, and I will do my part but I'm also going to stay focused on the issues," she said.

It was not immediately clear whether the Justice Department would investigate the potential compromise highlighted by the intelligence inspector general. The office has not suggested any wrongdoing by Clinton, according to U.S. officials speaking on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the referral publicly.

But the inspector general's office said in its letter to Congressional oversight committees that it was concerned that "these emails exist on at least one private server and thumb drive with classified information and those are not in the government's possession," said Andrea Williams, a spokeswoman for McCullough.

None of the emails were marked as classified at the time they were sent or received, but some should have been handled as such and sent on a secure computer network, said the letter sent to congressional oversight committees.

Clinton has maintained that she never sent classified information on her personal email account, which she said in March she used as a matter of convenience to limit her number of electronic devices.

The State Department has made public some of the emails involving Clinton, and is under court order to make regular further releases of such correspondence.

The aim is for the department to unveil all of 55,000 pages of the emails she turned over by Jan. 29, 2016. But a federal judge this month chastised the department for moving too slowly in providing The Associated Press with thousands of emails submitted through the Freedom of Information Act.

Republicans are pushing Clinton to turn over her server to a third party for a forensic evaluation.

"Her poor judgment has undermined our national security, and it is time for her to finally do the right thing," said House Speaker John Boehner.

Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill said she had followed "appropriate practices in dealing with classified materials."

But there's little dispute among intelligence officials that Clinton should have been more careful with her information - though her behavior was likely not criminal.

Current and former U.S. intelligence officials say they assume that all of the email that transited Clinton's home server is in the possession of Russian or Chinese intelligence services, who would have easily bypassed whatever security measures she took. They, too, spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to discuss the Clinton email situation publicly.

Whether a security violation or not, the risk for Democrats is that questions about her email harden into an early narrative about Clinton's honesty and management skills. Already, Republicans have spent months depicting Clinton as a creature of Washington who flouts the rules for personal gain.

Clinton's people say questions about her correspondence won't sway voters, who they argue are more focused on economic and family issues. But, there are signs that the issue may have already affected views of their candidate.

An Associated Press-GfK poll released last week found that voters view her as less decisive and inspiring than when she launched her presidential campaign just three months ago. Just 3 in 10 said the word "honest" describes her very or somewhat well.
