Russia and Egypt dismiss U.S., British claims that bomb brought down Metrojet

I don't work for the National Transportation Safety Board but judging by these photos it appears something exploded from the inside out.

(Click)

I remember in 1996 TWA Flight 800 suffered a
fuel tank explosion killing everybody on board. The NTSB put the plane's fuselage together like a jigsaw puzzle to arrive at the final conclusion.

Of course Pierre Salinger claimed friendly fire from the United States Navy was the cause of the crash. His own rendering of the 'grassy knoll theory' probably conceived while drinking too much Château Margaux.

So was it a bomb? It certainly could have been since the tail was found three miles away and a baby's body was found more than 21 miles from the main crash site, which would indicate an explosion and possible ISIS collaboration.

They took credit for it and I blew it off as just another lie. Now I don't know. Seems to me Russia is going out of its way to sidestep ISIS involvement. They don't want to believe or maybe admit it was a bomb. Now I would expect this from Barry but Putin? 224 people mostly Russians died on this plane. You would think Putin would have taken a personal interest to see if in fact ISIS was involved and if they are bomb the living hell out of them.

Russian investigators say it will take several months to determine what actually happened. I bet the NTSB would have a pretty good idea within week.

BTW...Egypt is dismissing it to. Why? Tourism dollars.

RNC asks IRS to audit Clinton charity's finances

Lets be clear here. This is stupid.

1. Hillary will claim this is purely political especially after McCarthy's gaffe over Benghazi which has propelled her poll numbers to more than double over Sanders.

2. In the real world do they really expect no good, lying, Koskinen is going to do the RNC any 'favors' while Republicans are in the process of trying to impeaching him?

That said if Republicans appointed an independent unbiased investigative team  I guarantee you they could prove the Clinton Foundation is nothing more then a slush fund with a plethora of inconsistencies like this one.

The Clinton family’s mega-charity took in more than $140 million in grants and pledges in 2013 but spent just $9 million on direct aid. This one's even better.

Go here Charity Navigator.

They evaluate charities. Type in Clinton Foundation. This is what you get.

We don't evaluate Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation.
Why not? We have determined that this charity's atypical business model cannot be accurately captured in our current rating methodology.

That is so  Clintonesque. What they're really saying is we love the Clinton's and we're trying to cover their ass...but we can only go so far.

(Oh... and while your at it check out Sharpton's 'charity' National Action Network)

The Republican National Committee asked the IRS Tuesday to audit the finances of one of the Clinton family's charities following its refusal to re-file tax forms even after acknowledging errors in reporting donations from foreign governments.

Reuters reported the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) said this week that it had decided against re-filing so-called Form 990s because the errors "had no impact" on the total amount of income it reported to the IRS. The charity claimed that the total amount of income was correct, but the breakdown of government and private funding was not. As a result, CHAI spokeswoman Maura Daley said the organization "does not believe a re-filing is necessary."

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus requested the audit in a letter to IRS Commissioner John Koskinen.

"Given CHAI’s history of repeatedly failing to accurately report the amount of money it received from foreign governments ... there is no way to tell whether there exists other undisclosed foreign government grants without the IRS conducting a full audit of CHAI’s financial records." Priebus wrote. "The American people deserve to know whether the largest philanthropic arm of the Clinton Foundation continues to misreport the funds it receives from foreign governments, and whether this might lead to the potential for further conflicts of interest.

In April, Reuters reported that the CHAI had failed to note grants from foreign governments separately from total revenue on its Form 990s in 2012 and 2013. At the time, the organization said it would re-file the documents for both years. It had previously re-filed returns from 2010 and 2011 for over-reporting the amount received in government grants by over $100 million.

The Clinton Foundation also said it would re-file its Form 990s after wrongly reporting that it had received no money from foreign governments on its tax returns for 2010, 2011, and 2012.

Reuters reported, citing tax experts, that it was unusual for a charity to make such large mistakes several years in a row. An IRS spokesman told the news agency that charities should re-file a Form 990 if it becomes aware of an error.

The Clinton Foundation and its affiliated charities have come under increased scrutiny as Hillary Clinton has cemented her status as the clear front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination. She resigned from the foundation's board earlier this year ahead of announcing her candidacy, but her husband Bill and daughter Chelsea remain directors.

Republicans and ethicists have repeatedly criticized the foundation for being less than forthcoming with its ties to foreign governments, especially during Hillary Clinton's tenure as secretary of state. Earlier this year, the charities admitted that they had not fully complied with an ethics agreement limiting donations from foreign governments that the Obama administration insisted Clinton agree to before becoming secretary of state.

Barry mocks Republican debate

And the people laughing in this video are on par with these idiots.

Video 168

Did that capon just say running your economy into the ground? The guy who will double the national debt before he leaves office!

This coming from "Harry Callahan". The guy who stared down Assad and Putin when he drew the red line in Syria and stood steadfast. The guy who stared down the Iranians by  hammering out a nuke deal with anywhere anytime inspections and allowing them to test their own soil samples. The guy who stared down Putin again when he told Barry to get his planes out of Syria because he was taking over. The guy who stared down the Chinese from creating artificial islands in the disputed South China Sea. Oh...and the Taliban.. he stared them down by giving them 5 high ranking commanders for a worthless deserter.

Welcome to the real world Folks

San Francisco sheriff known for 'sanctuary city' defense loses re-election bid

Finally some good news. Hope it becomes a trend.

San Francisco sheriff loses election bid in landslide

Lost reelection? I'm surprised he wasn't fired!

This guy has quite a history.

Of course Wikipedia omitted Mirkarimi was the one who released Sanchez which ultimately led to the death of Kate Steinle and I suspect the major reason he lost.

I wonder what it feels like to deliberately release Sanchez , even after federal immigration officials told him not to, and then find out he killed Kate Steinle.

I bet he didn't even give a damn.

-------------------------------------------

The San Francisco sheriff who over the summer became embroiled in a national debate over "sanctuary city" policies on Tuesday lost his bid for re-election amid a host of local controversies.

Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi, 54, was defeated by Vicki Hennessy, a former sheriff's official who had the endorsement of San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee and the sheriff deputies association. As of early Wednesday morning, Hennessy had received 62 percent of the vote to just 31 percent for Mirkarimi.

Mirkarimi was the subject of national criticism after Mexican illegal immigrant Francisco Sanchez allegedly shot and killed 32-year-old Kate Steinle on San Francisco's waterfront July 1. Sanchez had been released from Mirkarimi's jail in March even though federal immigration officials had requested he be detained for possible deportation.

But since then, the sheriff's oversight of the department has been plagued by other high-profile mishaps and controversies seen as contributing to his defeat. He had his driver's license briefly suspended for failing to properly report a minor accident while driving a department-issued car, and he also flunked a marksmanship test.

Before those two incidents, a drug gang leader escaped from jail, and guards were accused of staging and gambling on inmate fights.

In November 2014, Mirkarimi also was forced to apologize for the bungled search for a San Francisco General Hospital patient whose body was found in a stairwell weeks after she wandered from her room. The sheriff is in charge of the hospital's security, but deputies didn't search the building until nine days after her disappearance. The city paid the patient's family $3 million to settle a lawsuit.

But Mirkarimi is now known nationally for his strident defense of sanctuary city policies, taking the practice to a new level under his leadership.

San Francisco declared itself a sanctuary city in 1989, passing an ordinance that bans city officials from enforcing immigration laws or asking about immigration status unless required by law or court order. A follow-up ordinance in 2013 allows detention only under a court order targeting violent felons. Last month, San Francisco's board of supervisors unanimously approved a resolution to maintain the city's sanctuary status.

San Francisco and other cities and counties have routinely ignored requests from Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials to keep people in custody. The jurisdictions say they can't hold arrestees beyond their scheduled release dates without probable cause.

Hennessy has previously said the sheriff's order barring the San Francisco jail from cooperating with immigration officials is misguided. There are cases, she said, when federal immigration officials should be notified that the jail is about to release an inmate who is in the country illegally.

Muslim truck drivers refuse to deliver beer, win $240,000 lawsuit

Christian photographers have had to close up shop, Christian bakers have been slapped with hefty fines, a county clerk was thrown in jail, and the list goes on and on and on when it comes to how Christians have been treated when they refused to involve their businesses in any way with what could be considered support of same-sex marriage, a violation of their religious beliefs.

It’s interesting, then, to see how an Illinois jury ruled when it came to a case involving two Muslim truck drivers who were fired from their jobs in 2009 for refusing to make beer deliveries because of their religious beliefs.

An Illinois jury awarded $240,000 in damages and back pay to two former truck drivers who claimed religious discrimination when they were fired in 2009 after refusing to make beer deliveries.

A jury was convened to determine damages after US District Court Judge James E. Shadid ruled in favor of Mahad Abass Mohamed and Abdkiarim Hassan Bulshale when Star Transport admitted liability in March. The men, both of whom are Somali-American Muslims, were represented by the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission(EEOC).

Under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, employers must make accommodations for workers' religious beliefs unless doing so would impose "undue hardship" on the business.

As UCLA law professor Eugene Volokh explained to The Washington Post, the trucking companyadmitted that drivers often switched their assignments, meaning it would have been reasonable to accommodate the men's request, rather than firing them.

"EEOC is proud to support the rights of workers to equal treatment in the workplace without having to sacrifice their religious beliefs or practices," EEOC General Counsel David Lopez announced Thursday. "This is fundamental to the American principles of religious freedom and tolerance."

EEOC Supervisory Trial Attorney Diane Smason’s remarks were equally enthusiastic.

“We are pleased that the jury recognized that these - and all - employees are entitled to observe and practice their faith, no matter what that might be,” she said.

Just as long as they don’t involve gay marriage and are held by Christians, right?
