New issue of ISIS magazine Dabiq calls for war on . . . Muslims

Guess you can say this just blew Barry's facade of portraying Gitmo as "a recruiting tool for terrorism" out of the water.

Another interesting tidbit.

-------------------------------------

The latest issue of Islamic State's online magazine targets the terror group's fellow Muslims even more than the West.

Dabiq, as the English-language publication is called, devotes a majority of the 56 pages in the latest issue to justifying the killing of Shia Muslims. In numerous articles, the magazine goes to great lengths to give a theological basis for killing members of the minority Muslim sect that controls Iran and Iraq and has been at odds with Sunni Muslims for over a millennia.

“The magazine spends so much time justifying the killing of innocent Shiites that it suggests that ISIL is frustrated that too few Sunnis favor sectarian massacres,” Ryan Mauro, a national security analyst for the Clarion Project, said. “ISIS is making the argument because it sees a problem it needs to address.”

ISIS' literary arm charges that Shia Muslims, or Shiites, qualify as apostates to the Sunni majority and therefore deserve to be killed. The radical terror group's target audience seems to be fellow Sunnis who consider Shiites to be Muslims, or at the very least, not deserving of being murdered.

“The spark has been lit here in Iraq, and its heat will continue to intensify – by Allah’s permission – until it burns the Crusader armies in Dābiq.”

- Quote from Abu Mus’ab az-Zarqawi in the latest issue of Dabiq.

“ISIL's focus on justifying killing Shiites is because it is being pressed by Shiite forces in Iraq and Syria,” Mauro said. ”ISIL is hoping to enlist Sunnis by framing its jihad as part of a prophetic battle where the Shiites and Jews eventually unite behind the Antichrist.

Fanning the flames of the Sunni-Shia split, which dates to shortly after the death of Mohammad, benefits ISIS by helping it recruit Sunnis, Mauro said. And the terror group's leadership appears to believe a final battle has been prophecized.

Worldwide, Sunnis make up about 85 percent of the world’s 1.6 billion Muslims. Sunnis, who believe the true lineage of Mohammad lies with those who most closely followed his teachings, control powerful Muslim nations including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Turkey and Pakistan. In addition, most Muslims in Africa are Sunnis.

Shia Muslims are a relatively small minority of Muslims, concentrated in Iran and Iraq. They believe bloodlines, not devotion, dictate the prophet’s line of successors. Throughout history, Shia Muslims have rejected the authority of Muslim leaders elected by the people, instead following a line of clerics they consider to have been appointed by Mohammad or Allah.

The divide goes back to the period following Mohammad’s death in 632, when his close confidante Abu Bakr became the first Caliph of the Islamic nation. Shias believed the rightful heir was Mohammad’s cousin and son-in-law, Ali bin Abu Talib.

Both sects have spawned more than their share of terrorists, though the terror organizations operate differently. Al Qaeda, ISIS, Al-Shebab and Boko Haram are Sunni organizations, while Iranian-sponsored terrorist groups, including Hezbollah, are Shia.

The 13th issue of Dabiq, a copy of which was provided to FoxNews.com by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), is titled "The Rafidah: From Ibn Saba' To the Dajjal." Rafidah is derogatory term for Shia Muslims that translates to “rejecters.”

In the forward of the issue, the terror group praises the Dec. 2 terror attack in San Bernadino, Calif., calling it a demonstration of Muslims’ willingness to make sacrifice for the sake of “fulfilling their duty to Allah.” The forward then uses the attaclks carried out by married couple Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik as a call to arms for targeting "crusaders" on their own soil.

“The spark has been lit here in Iraq, and its heat will continue to intensify – by Allah’s permission – until it burns the Crusader armies in Dābiq,” reads a quote from Abu Mus’ab az-Zarqawi, an Iraq-based Al Qaeda leader killed in 2006.

The issue also touches upon other matters, including an article on the recently killed executioner for ISIS, “Jihadi John,” an article praising the widows of ISIS fighters and a piece blasting Saudi Arabia.

But what is most clear throughout the issue is a concerted effort to wipe out the Shia population of the Middle East. At first glance, it may seem odd that ISIS is focusing its efforts against fellow Muslims and not the West, but Mauro says that it is part of a very elaborate campaign on the Islamic State’s part.

“It is still important for ISIL to attack the U.S. and Europe for branding purposes," Mauro said. "It helps them make their case that they are looked favorably upon by Allah and that they are growing stronger, regardless of whatever territorial losses they suffer on the ground.”

Federal Judge Obama Appointed Strikes Down His Fast and Furious Executive Privilege Claim

On a tip from Ed Kilbane

I believe there was like 1,800 guns that “walked’. "Stedman's" recklessness got two border patrol agents killed. How many others have died? When it comes to death by gun his antics no doubt caused more deaths than in Chiraq. Funny, Barry likes to pontificate on expanded background checks to get a gun but when it comes to "Holder's guns" he wants to keep a lid on it.

From what I understand, a president cannot use executive privilege to cover up a crime. Unless your name is BHO.

Breaking story today.

Rifle capable of taking down helicopter found at 'El Chapo' hideout purchased through Fast and Furious program

I have a tendency to get excited about these kinds of stories. Then reality sets in (crime vs punishment). Of the multitude of scandals originating in this administration, no one is ever charged, prosecuted, and found guilty.

After significant deliberation U.S. District Judge Amy Berman has struck down Obama's assertion of executive privilege over documents pertaining to Operation Fast and Furious, the Department of Justice program that allowed the sale and trafficking of thousands of weapons to violent Mexican drug cartels. Berman was appointed to the Court by President Obama in 2011. POLITICO has the details:

U.S. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson ruled Tuesday that the Justice Department's public disclosures about its response to the so-called "gun walking" controversy undercut Obama's executive privilege claim.

The standoff over the records led to a House vote in 2012 holding then-Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress for failing to turn over the records. The House later initiated a lawsuit to try to force disclosure of the files.

Jackson left open the possibility that some of the records could be held back from Congress because they contain sensitive information on law enforcement techniques or implicate foreign policy concerns.

President Obama asserted executive privilege over thousands of documents after former Attorney General Eric Holder refused to turn over them over to Congress in June 2012 and just hours before the House Oversight Committee voted to hold Holder in contempt. This is what I wrote at the time just prior to the vote on Capitol Hill

Just 15 minutes before the House Oversight Committee vote against Attorney General Eric Holder is set to take place, the Department of Justice has asked the White House to assert Executive Privilege for all Operation Fast and Furious documents according to Chairman Issa's press secretary Becca Watkins. Regardless, the vote will move forward. If President Obama decides to invoke executive privilege, it is an indication that President Obama was involved in Operation Fast and Furious, which he has boldly denied. President Obama said as early as last week he stood with "full faith and confidence" next to Attorney General in his handling of the Fast and Furious scandal.

President Obama granted the executive privilege request despite claiming to know nothing about Operation Fast and Furious when it was active from 2009-2010.

Holder was later held in civil and criminal contempt of Congress by Republicans and Democrats in the House for failing to cooperate with a congressional investigation and for refusing to turn over requested documentation.

The next step here is the Justice Department to turning over the disputed documentation to Congress unless of course the White House appeals the decision.

"I'm supporting Trump" barely left her lips...

Doesn't take them long.

Sarah Palin's Son Arrested for Punching and Kicking Girlfriend, Police Say

Sarah Palin 's son was arrested last night in a domestic violence  incident, police said, one day before the former Republican vice presidential candidate endorsed Donald Trump  for president.

Track Palin, 26, was arrested in Wasilla, Alaska  late Monday and charged with three misdemeanors, including assault, interference with the reporting of a domestic violence crime and weapons possession while intoxicated, according to Alaska court records.

The Wasilla Police Department alleged in a statement that Palin "had committed a domestic violence assault on a female" Monday night.

According to the criminal complaint, Palin allegedly punched and kicked his girlfriend before she says she thought he might shoot himself.

Investigators said that Palin appeared intoxicated and allegedly threw her phone, possibly breaking it, the complaint said.

His bail was set at $1,500. It is unclear whether he has been released on bail, or entered a plea.

U.S. Sen. John McCain  (R-Arizona) selected Sarah Palin as his vice presidential running mate during his 2008 run for the White House.

No attorney was listed in court records and a Palin family lawyer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Report: Pentagon Might Demote Retired General David Petraeus

Well well well...things are not looking good for Petraeus. So if he's the gold standard by which all others are judged can we interpret Killary will be removed as a presidential candidate relegated to mopping the floors with Susan Smith at Leath Correctional Institution?

Now would be a great time for another concussion.

---------------------------------------------------

The Pentagon is looking for generals to punish. According to insiders, that may involve retroactively punishing retired Army Gen. David Petraeus with a demotion for leaking classified information to his biographer.

Three different sources reportedly spoke to The Daily Beast regarding Petraeus as a potential target for discipline. What this means is that Defense Secretary Ash Carter may soon go against an early decision by the Army and reduce Petraeus’ rank.

A demotion would carry major consequences. First, Petraeus would lose hundreds of thousands of dollars in future pay and be forced to pay back part of his pension and benefits he received while being a retired four-star general. Second, it would further tarnish his reputation in the public eye. But since Petraeus is already living a comfortable lifestyle, the blow to his reputation is likely to be much more severe and impactful, as the military only very rarely considers demotions for four-star generals.

“The Department of the Army is still in the process of providing the Secretary with information relevant to former‎ Secretary McHugh’s recommendation,” Pentagon spokesman Peter Cook told The Daily Beast. “Once the Secretary‎ has an opportunity to consider this information, he will make his decision about next steps, if any, in this matter.”

Still, the matter is not finalized. Carter may come to a separate decision which allows Petraeus to keep his current rank, or he may simply defer to the Army’s take on the matter.

Reconsidering Petraeus’ record comes at a time when the Federal Bureau of Investigation has provided the Army with new information about his poor handling of classified information. This is now reemerging almost four years after the scandal took place with his biographer and mistress Paula Broadwell. Petraeus had reportedly handed over eight notebooks containing classified information to Broadwell without clearing them for sensitive details first. After receiving questioning, Petraeus lied to investigators. Of course, the FBI soon found out the lies. He pled guilty in 2015 to a misdemeanor, at which point he accepted a two-year probation, avoided prison and paid a fine of $100,000.

“Today marks the end of a two-and-a-half-year ordeal,” Petraeus said after his sentencing, according to CNN. “I now look forward to moving on with the next phase of my life.”

That next phase may involve the Pentagon bringing old skeletons out of the closet.
