Border Patrol Chief Mark Morgan Resigns

Great News!

This is an excellent opportunity for this guy.

----------------------------------------------------

Border Patrol Chief Mark Morgan has resigned, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection said Thursday. “On behalf of the men and women of U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the U.S. Border Patrol, I want to thank Mark Morgan for his unwavering dedication to our border security mission, and recognize his life-long career in service to the nation,” said Kevin K. McAleenan, the acting commissioner of CBP. Morgan’s resignation comes as President Donald Trump is ordering the construction of a wall on the southern border between the U.S. and Mexico. Earlier Thursday, Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto canceled a meeting with Trump that was scheduled for next Tuesday because of their dispute over the border wall.

Madeleine Albright 'ready to register as Muslim' over refugee suspension

Former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright introduces Hillary Clinton during a campaign stop in New Hampshire. (Reuters)

Madeleine Albright the former secretary of state, tweeted Wednesday that she is prepared to register as a Muslim in ‘solidarity’ as reports say President Trump plans on suspending the U.S.'s refugee program for 120 days.

Albright said that there is no fine print on the Statue of Liberty and America must "remain open to people of all faiths & backgrounds."

She went on to say that she was raised Catholic, became Episcopalian and “found out later my family was Jewish.”

“I stand ready to register as Muslim in #solidarity,” she tweeted. The Hill reported that she is following in feminist icon Gloria Steinem’s vow to become Muslim if there is ever a registry.

Albright was a vocal critic of Trump in the election and lended her support to Hillary Clinton. She made headlines last year when, at a rally in New Hampshire, she said there's a special "place in hell for women who don't help each other."

She later clarified those remarks and called it an "undiplomatic moment."

Does anyone truly believe this is going to assimilate into our society?

Defeated Clinton considers launching liberal television show to lay the groundwork for ANOTHER White House run

Hillary Clinton is considering another run for president – and is mulling the idea of launching a television talk show to soften the ground for 2020.

Clinton would be 73 years old if she were to challenge President Donald Trump – again – and win the White House the next time around.

Launching a TV program now would make her America's second-oldest female news or talk show host on the small screen, after only Joy Behar of 'The View.'

Author Ed Klein wrote Wednesday on his blog that according to a Clinton insider, the former secretary of state is open to the idea.

Hillary Clinton is considering the creation of a TV show to position herself for a third presidential run, sources tell author Ed Klein

Clinton got plenty of on-air experience during the 2016 campaign, but has never hosted a broadcast program. She is seen during an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in May, 2016, during her run for president

'She thinks being the host of a popular TV show would energize the Democratic Party base and her tens of millions of fans,' the unnamed source said, according to Klein.

'It's a way to make a comeback and position herself for another run at the White House starting in a year or so.'

Clinton, Klein writes, recently told a group of friends gathered at her Washington, D.C. home: 'I'll be back' – and delivered the line in an Arnold Schwarzenegger 'Terminator' accent as she raised a glass of wine.

A planned comeback as a presidential candidate for the third time would preclude the idea of running for mayor of New York City.

It would also take more lucrative opportunities off the table, including corporate boards and university chancellorships.

But the Clintons are among the nation's richest Democratic politicians, reaping hundreds of millions of dollars in speaking fees since Bill Clinton left the White House in 2001.

The defeated Democrat sat stone-faced last Friday as Donald Trump was sworn in as president, and wants another bite at the apple

Among Clinton's barriers to a 2020 run that a TV show could allay include public misgivings about her health; last September she had to be dragged into her van after collapsing

Keeping up with the daily grind of a TV show would also allay fears among Democrats that her health is too frail to survive the rigors of the presidency.

Klein's source said Hillary has 'been talking very seriously' about a star turn on television.

'As a TV host, she’d discuss the issues of the day from a progressive point of view, have top guests, interview world leaders and progressive thinkers.'

Hillary, in this scenario, would control everything about the show to make sure nothing unexpected could derail her future ambitions.

'She's convinced she'd get fabulous ratings in a political climate where there's so much anger in Democratic circles over Donald Trump's election,' the insider said.

It's unclear where a Hillary Clinton show would air, or when.

But the source declared to Klein that Clinton is 'utterly determined not to fade into the background. She intends to stay in the limelight and keep fighting the good fight.'

'She knows Obama is going to be out there fighting too. But frankly, she doesn't think he's a great leader or a great fighter, which leaves an opening for her to be the acknowledged leader-in-exile of her party.'

Trump to order construction of US-Mexican border wall; reportedly to suspend refugee program

---------------------------------------------------

President Trump today is expected to order the construction of his long-promised wall along the U.S.-Mexican border and take other actions on immigration, a main cornerstone of his presidential campaign.

Trump is planning a visit to the Department of Homeland Security, where he will roll out executive actions on immigration.

Staying true to form, Trump took to Twitter Tuesday night, and posted, “Big day planned on NATIONAL SECURITY tomorrow. Among many other things, we will build the wall!”

Trump's push for a border wall started with his campaign announcement back in June 2015.

"I would build a Great Wall, and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me, and I'll build them very inexpensively. I will build a great, great wall on our southern border and I will have Mexico pay for that wall, mark my words," Trump said at the time.

His wall announcement a rally cry for both his supporters and opponents. His supporters saw a candidate speaking plainly about border security, while his opponents called the plan divisive.

The New York Times reported that Wednesday's order will be signed the same day the Mexican foreign minister, Luis Videgaray, arrives in Washington prior to his country’s president’s trip at the end of the month.

Trump also expected to move forward with plans to curb funding of sanctuary cities that don't arrest or detain immigrants living in the U.S. illegally, which could cost individual jurisdictions millions of dollars.

A source told The Wall Street Journal that Trump, later this week, may order the suspension of entries to the U.S. from Iraq, Iran, Syria, Yemen, Somalia, Sudan and Libya.

The order bans those who engaged in bigotry, honor killings, violence against women and persecuted other religions from entering the country.

Other executive actions expected Wednesday include bolstering border patrol agents by 5,000 and ending what Republicans have argued is a catch-and-release system at the border.

A source familiar with the plan told Fox News that Trump will call from a victims' advocacy office for victims of crimes by illegal immigrants and increased overall transparency.

Currently, some immigrants caught crossing the border illegally are given notices to report back to immigration officials at a later date.

Trump's insistence that Mexico would pay for the wall was among his most popular proposals on the campaign trail, sparking enthusiastic cheers at his raucous rallies. Mexico has repeatedly said it will not pay for any border wall and Trump has not provided specific details about the project.

Earlier this month, Trump said the building project would initially be paid for with a congressionally approved spending bill and Mexico will eventually reimburse the U.S., though he has not specified how he would guarantee payments.

The reported that the low-ball project estimate is $10 billion. The Government Accountability Office reportedly said it may cost $6.5 million per mile for a single-layer of fencing.

Sean Spicer, the White House press secretary, said Tuesday that Trump’s priority is focusing on those “who pose a threat to people in our country.”
