‘Mayor Libby Schaaf Act’ would imprison gov’t officials who warn about ICE raids

First of all, they shouldn't have to pass an 'Act'. She's already guilty of obstruction of justice.

That said if this comes to fruition it's a brilliant move on King's part. 99.9% percent of Democrats will vote against the Mayor Libby Schaaf Act which will make great campaign fodder for the upcoming elections.

I can see it now:

True blue Democrats voted against the Mayor Libby Schaaf Act.

Every vote against the Act is a vote FOR illegals. Think about that for a moment. They voted against ICE... to protect illegal criminals residing in our country!

Vote Republican

Unless you want them for neighbors...

Department of Justice blames mayor after she tipped off immigrants of impending ICE raids. Marianne Rafferty provides the latest details from Los Angeles.

A Republican lawmaker on Monday proposed a measure that would imprison government officials up to five years for obstructing the enforcement of federal laws.

The Mayor Libby Schaaf Act was introduced by Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, and named after the Oakland mayor who earlier this year tipped off residents of an incoming crackdown on illegal immigrants by federal authorities.

“I want lawless, sanctuary city politicians to hear this message clearly: if you obstruct ICE, you are going to end up in the cooler,” King said in a statement.

“It shall be unlawful for any officer, employee, or agent of a State or political subdivision thereof to obstruct, hinder, delay, or otherwise impede the enforcement of the laws of the United States, or to attempt to do so,” the text of the bill reads.

Shaaf in February used social media to warn the public about upcoming ICE actions.

Following the backlash, she stood behind her decision, despite claims from federal immigration authorities that hundreds of criminal illegal immigrants escaped capture as a result of her actions.

"It is Oakland’s legal right to be a sanctuary city and we have not broken any laws," Schaaf said in a statement at the time. "We believe our community is safer when families stay together."

King’s proposed measure comes amid the showdown between officials in California and federal authorities.

President Donald Trump met last week with California Republican lawmakers and law enforcement officials who pushed back against the state’s sanctuary laws that limit cooperation with immigration authorities.

Trump mentioned Schaaff by name, urging Attorney General Jeff Sessions to consider charging her for obstructing justice. “You talk about an obstruction of justice, I would recommend that you look into obstruction of justice for the mayor of Oakland California, Jeff,” he said.

The Oakland mayor fired back against criticism of her conduct, penning an article in The Washington Post saying she’s not guilty of obstruction of justice.

"I wanted to make sure that people illegals were prepared, not panicked, and that they understood their legal rights," Schaaf wrote.

NYC Parents Outraged at Public School's Moment of Silence for 'Hamas Terrorists' Deaths in Gaza

My first reaction was this is New York, not Texas nor Alabama. Why would they be outraged?

After all, they voted for this asshole...again.

My second thought. Where is the ACLU? God forbid someone says a prayer in school yet a moment of silence for a throng of Muslim terrorists is perfectly acceptable.

Straight out of Wikipedia:

Hamas is regarded, either in whole or in part, as a terrorist organization by several countries and international organizations, most notably by Israel, the United States and the European Union.

--------------------------------

Parents of students attending the Beacon School in New York City are outraged over the school's decision to hold a moment of silence for the victims of violence in Gaza, many of whom were members of the terrorist organization, Hamas.

On Tuesday, a day after the United States celebrated moving its embassy to Jerusalem, the public school held a school-wide moment of silence for those who were killed during violent unrest on the Gaza border.

High school junior Sophie Steinberg, a Jewish student, told the New York Post that when it started, she could see a lot of her Jewish friends become uncomfortable.

“They don’t know how to feel. They don’t know how to fit into all of this,” she explained.

Watch the video below:

Steinberg said that it's in the school's “nature” to bring up things that “no one wants to talk about,” but junior Fortune Ndombo told the New York Post that she wished there was a conversation about what was going on. However, there “was no follow-up.”

“I am extremely upset because I did not send my child to a New York City public school to pray for Hamas operatives,” one father, who is Jewish, shared with the outlet.

Another student's mother, who is also Jewish, said she doesn't ever believe a school should be “promoting a moment of silence for terrorists.” “What if it was Islamic terrorists in ISIS?” she wondered.

Morton Klein, the president of the Zionist Organization of America, said the organization is planning on sending a letter to the Beacon School demanding an apology.

He called it “disgraceful” to “mourn the death of Hamas terrorists.”

Following the deaths of 62 people, many cast blame on Israel for using excessive force against unarmed protesters, but Salah al-Bardawil, a senior Hamas official, admitted the majority of the deaths were members of the terrorist organization.

"In the last round of confrontations, if 62 people were martyred, 50 of them were Hamas,” al-Bardawil said.

FBI plant in Trump campaign was US-born Cambridge professor, reports say

This really stinks! Tarmac meeting, Strock-Page text messages, Comey-McCabe lying through their teeth, just to name a few and now this. Since this latest eye-popping subversion has now been exposed how much longer must we wait before something is done about it? Is the Republican-controlled Congress Helen Keller?

---------------------------

Stefan Halper, a University of Cambridge professor, has been identified as an FBI plant in the Trump campaign, according to multiple news outlets. (The Institute of World Politics)

American-born University of Cambridge professor Stefan Halper has been identified as an FBI plant in Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign, multiple news outlets reported Saturday.

The 73-year-old academic reportedly has deep ties to American and British intelligence, having served in the Nixon, Ford and Reagan administrations, the New York Post reported.

President Trump tweeted Friday that confirmation of an FBI plant in his campaign would become the nation's "all-time biggest political scandal."

The New York Times and Washington Post reportedly have known of Halper’s identity for weeks, but chose not to reveal his name. Then on Thursday, the Daily Caller named Halper in the opening paragraph of its report.

(No bias reporting going on here)

The Washington Post said it received warnings from U.S. officials that revealing Halper’s identity posed a security risk.

 Pose a security risk defined:

The  'U.S. officials' didn't want the voting public to find out the FBI tried to rig the election.

Meanwhile, reports vary on when the FBI tapped Halper to snoop on the Trump campaign.

The New York Times reported in December that during “a night of heavy drinking at an upscale London bar in May 2016,” Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos had disclosed to an Australian diplomat the Russians had dirt on the Clinton campaign. The Australians then tipped off the FBI, prompting the agency to launch “Crossfire Hurricane” on July 31, 2016.

But Harper met with Page in early July that summer, contradicting the FBI’s claims of when the operation began, while Halper met Carter Page at a British symposium and remained in contact for more than a year.

In August, Harper met with Trump campaign co-chair Sam Clovis to offer his experience, the Washington Post reported.

A few days later, Harper reportedly offered Papadopoulos compensation in exchange for writing a paper about energy in the eastern Mediterranean region.

Sources close to Papadopoulos now say Harper was working for an intelligence agency.

Papadopoulos has pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI, while Page was the subject of a federal surveillance warrant.

By May 2017, the “Cross Hurricane” operation had melded with Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.
