Joe's at it again

Joe Biden's neurosurgeon insists the 2020 Democrat front-runner is as 'sharp as he was 31 years ago' - just hours before the 76-year-old wrongly claims MLK and RFK were assassinated in the 'late 70s'

  • Dr. Neal Kassell insisted Biden ‘is every bit as sharp as he was 31-years-ago,’ and said he’s hasn’t seen ‘any change’ in his patient over the last few decades
  • Just hours later Biden managed to place two of the most historically poignant moments of the 1960s in the wrong decade during a speech in Urbandale, Iowa
  • He wrongly claimed that the weeks-apart 1968 assassinations of Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy happened in the 'late 70s'
  • Concern for Biden’s mental acuity has been brought into question ever since he launched his White House bid in April, in light of a number of blunders
  • The 2020 front-runner has recently declared that poor children are ‘just as bright’ as white children and even claimed to be VP during Parkland in 2018
  • Biden's campaign staff are said to be considering limiting his public appearances in the future to preserve his place atop the polls

The self-proclaimed ‘gaffe machine’ managed to place two of the most historically poignant moments of the 1960s in the wrong decade during a speech in Urbandale, Iowa, on Tuesday afternoon

Stacey Abrams says no Democrats have contacted her about possible vice-presidential run

3 weeks from now...

Democrat Stacey Abrams, who isn't running for president in 2020, said that none of her fellow Democrats seeking the party's nomination to face off against President Trump have contacted her about making a possible vice-presidential run, but she said she would be "honored" to be considered.

"I would be honored to be considered for the vice presidency by the nominee, but it is presumptuous to think that they are looking at me. What I want everyone to look at is voter suppression," Abrams said on "CBS This Morning" Monday.

The rising star in the Democratic Party who shot down pleas to make a bid for Senate had hinted at joining the 2020 field several times, saying that a presidential campaign was "definitely on the table." She later told "CBS This Morning" that her successes in "transforming the electorate" in her home state showed she'd be "just as capable of becoming the president of the United States as anyone running."

But she hasn't ruled out the 2020 ticket altogether, saying that she is open to being the eventual Democratic presidential nominee's running mate. Abrams recently told The New York Times that she believed the "strongest contribution" that she could give to the presidential primary would be to "make sure our nominee is coming into an environment where there's strong voter protections in place."

"I have talked to them about making certain that we fight voter suppression and that Georgia's a battleground state," Abrams told CBS when asked if she's had discussions about a VP ticket.

Abrams had met with a slew of candidates, including current front-runner former Vice President Joe Biden earlier this year, sparking fresh rumors of a possible Biden-Abrams ticket to face off against Mr. Trump in the general election.

"We talked about a lot of things, but that was not the core issue," Abrams told CBS at the time.

For now, Abrams said she will focus on expanding the work of her voting rights initiative, Fair Fight 2020. The Democrat, who narrowly lost her race for Georgia governor last November, said she is working to make sure that every eligible ballot in 2020 is counted, slamming some states' recent voting laws as "insidious."

"Voter suppression is the baseline that determines whether your voice is heard, whether the values and the policies that you want ever come to fruition," said Abrams. She said people need to realize voter suppression laws from the 1960s that forbade voting for African-Americans have evolved.

Stacy takes a break from 'Voter suppression' to attend the Iowa corn festival where her presence was unmistakable.

"What we're talking about is whether you can register and stay on the rolls, whether you can cast your ballot and whether your ballot is counted," she said.

Abrams, who refused to formally concede to Republican Brian Kemp in 2018 due to concerns over voting irregularities after she lost by less than 2% of the vote, said that conceding would acknowledge to voters that the "process was fair."

"I am complicit if I say that the system is fair. I did not deny the legal sufficiency of the election, I am not claiming to be the governor of Georgia despite what Breitbart and others like to say. What I have said is we won the battle of making sure more voices were heard because we had the highest record turnout in Georgia history for Democrats," Abrams said.

She added, "But because there are more people in the water, that doesn't mean there are fewer sharks. You can have a higher turnout. That doesn't diminish the fact that voter suppression is real and affecting people across the country."

HOW I FEEL ABOUT TRUMP: By Steve Harvey

On a tip from Tom Nicholas

You've been on vacation for two weeks, you come home, and your basement is infested with raccoons.. Hundreds of rabid, messy, mean raccoons have overtaken your basement. You want them gone immediately!.. You call the city and 4 different exterminators, but nobody can handle the job.. But there is this one guy, and he guarantees to get rid of them, so you hire him.. You don't care if the guy swears, you don't care how many times he's been married, you don't care if he has a plumber's crack, you simply want those raccoons gone!.. You want your problem fixed!.. He's the guy.. He's the best!

Here's why we want Trump: Yes, he's a bit of a jerk; Yes, he's an egomaniac; but we don't care!.. The country is a mess because politicians suck, the Republicans and Democrats can be two-faced and gutless, and illegals are everywhere.. We want it all fixed!.. We don't care that Trump is crude, we don't care that he insults people, we don't care that he's been married 3 times, we don't care that he fights with Megyn Kelly and Rosie O'Donnell, we don't care that he doesn't know the name of some Muslim terrorist.. This country became weak and bankrupt, our enemies were making fun of us, we are being invaded by illegals, we are becoming a nation of victims where every Tom, Ricardo, and Hasid is a special group with special rights to a point where we don't even recognize the country we were born and raised in; "AND WE JUST WANT IT FIXED”.. And Trump is the only guy who seems to understand what the people want..

We're sick of politicians, sick of the Democratic Party, sick of the Republican Party, and sick of illegals!.. We just want this thing fixed.. Trump may not be a Saint, but we didn’t vote for a Pope.. We voted for a man who doesn't have lobbyist money holding him back, a man who doesn't have political correctness restraining him.. We all know that he has been very successful, he’s a good negotiator, he has built a lot of things, and he's also NOT a politician, NOT a cowardly politician.!.. And he says he'll fix it.. And we believe him because he is too much of an egotist to be proven wrong, or looked at and called a liar.. Also, we don't care if the guy has bad hair.. We just want those raccoons gone, out of our house, NOW!!

Jussie Smollett Might Sue The City of Chicago

Good...I'm glad

This falls at the feet of the city's prosecutor.

Everybody and their brother knows Smollett is guilty as hell. There's a mountain of evidence which would have lead to a conviction if their name was any other than Smollett. But the charges were suddenly dropped by the city’s prosecutor because they felt a conviction was “uncertain” based on evidence collected. Mt Mckinley wasn't enough... they needed Kiliminjaro too? I honestly don't how they could have any more than they had. Based on what I have seen shouldn't a jury decide if there is sufficient evidence? When Foxx uses the word  “uncertain” the interpretation is she was certain Smollett would be convicted.

Hope Smollett gets millions and they hang Foxx out to dry. She's a bigger crook than he is.

Had to laugh when I saw this.

Birds of a feather...

She 'reformed'  it alright!

Back in the spotlight is (former) Empire actor Jussie Smollett with an update on the saga between him and the City of Chicago. [insert pained groaning sound here]

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, lawyers representing the city’s lawsuit against Smollett for allegedly falsifying a police report and wasting valuable city resources expect to go to trial as early as next summer. This information comes from a five-page status report filed in federal court Thursday on the city’s efforts to recoup over $130,000 from the actor-activist.

But Smollett isn’t taking the impending trial lying down. The status report also notes he’s considering legal action of his own against the city “for their conduct underlying the arrest and their conduct thereafter.”

This rigmarole began earlier this year when, on Jan. 29, Smollett said he suffered a racist and homophobic attack by two assailants. Following what appears to be an extensive, all-hands-on-deck investigation by the Chicago Police Department, charges were filed against Smollet himself, for falsifying a police report.

“Defendant submitted a false police report claiming that he was the victim of a racist and homophobic beating by unknown attackers," the lawsuit states, according to Yahoo News. "In reality, Defendant knew his attackers and orchestrated the purported attack himself. Later, when police confronted him with evidence about his attackers, he still refused to disclose his involvement in planning the attack."

But the charges were suddenly dropped by the city’s prosecutor because they felt a conviction was “uncertain” based on evidence collected.

“In determining whether or not to pursue charges, prosecutors are required to balance the severity of the crime against the likelihood of securing a conviction,” wrote Kim Foxx, Cook County state’s attorney, in a Chicago Tribune op-ed following the case. “For a variety of reasons, including public statements made about the evidence in this case, my office believed the likelihood of securing a conviction was not certain.”

In response, the city filed this civil suit against Smollett to the tune of $130,106, what they say it cost them to investigate the report. The trial is expected to last a couple days in June 2020.

Smollett was written out of the last few episodes of Empire’s fifth season, and the show has moved on without his character for its upcoming final season.

Joe Biden confuses Burlington, Iowa, with Burlington, Vt., in latest gaffe

God forbid he becomes president. I could see it now.

"Hey, Joe, you didn't mix up the nuclear launch codes with your ATM PIN number again...did you?"

Gaffe-prone Democratic 2020 frontrunner Joe Biden reportedly added another factual blunder to his list Friday.

During a campaign fundraiser in his home state of Delaware, the former vice president was referencing a speech he had made to a group of 275 people, in which he accused President Trump of "fueling a literal carnage” in the country through his rhetoric.

But Biden mistakenly recalled the location of the speech as Burlington, Vt., instead of Burlington, Iowa, according to The Washington Examiner. Whether Biden had Democratic rival Bernie Sanders -- a former mayor of Burlington, Vt. -- on his mind was not immediately known.

The mistake was the latest in a series of gaffes the 76-year-old Biden has made that have caused concern among some Democrats that's he's too old and prompted President Trump to say he isn’t “playing with a full deck.”

Last week in Iowa, Biden said “poor kids” are just as smart as “white kids,” and last weekend he mistakenly said he met with survivors of the February 2018 Parkland, Fla., school shooting while vice president -- even though he had left office more than a year before the attack.

He has also confused former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher for Theresa May twice since May.

Biden’s press secretary told CNN the focus on Biden's blunders is a “press narrative, not a voter narrative."

Some Biden allies have suggested limiting his appearances due to the mistakes, the Examiner reported.
