Back On Uncle Sam's Plantation

By Star Parker

Six years ago I wrote a book called Uncle Sam's Plantation. I wrote the book
To tell my own story of what I saw living inside the
welfare state and my
own transformation out of it.

I said in that book that indeed there are two Americas -- a poor America on
socialism and a wealthy America on capitalism.

I talked about government programs like Temporary Assistance for Needy
Families (TANF), Job Opportunities and
Basic Skills Training (JOBS),
Emergency Assistance to Needy Families with Children (EANF),
Section 8 Housing, and Food Stamps.

A vast sea of perhaps well-intentioned government programs, all initially
set into motion in the 1960s, that were going to lift the nation's poor out
of poverty.

A benevolent
Uncle Sam welcomed mostly poor black Americans onto the
government plantation.

Those who accepted the invitation switched mindsets
from "How do I take care of myself?" to "What do I have to do to stay on the
plantation?"

Instead of solving
economic problems, government welfare socialism created
monstrous moral and spiritual problems -- the kind of problems that are
inevitable when individuals turn responsibility for their lives over to
others.

The legacy of American socialism is our blighted
inner cities, dysfunctional inner city schools, and broken black families.

Through God's grace, I found my way out. It was then that I understood what
freedom meant and how great this country is.

I had the privilege of working on
welfare reform in 1996, passed by a Republican Congress and signed 50 percent.

I thought we were on the road to moving socialism out of our poor black
communities and replacing it with wealth-producing
American capitalism.

But, incredibly, we are going in the opposite direction.

Instead of poor America on socialism becoming more like rich American on
capitalism, rich America on capitalism is becoming like poor America on
socialism.

Uncle Sam has welcomed our banks onto the plantation and they have said,
"Thank you, Suh."

Now, instead of thinking about what creative things need to be done to serve
customers, they are thinking about what they have to tell Massah in order to
get their cash.

There is some kind of irony that this is all happening under our first black
president on the 200th anniversary of the birthday of
Abraham Lincoln.

Worse, socialism seems to be the element of our new young president. And
maybe even more troubling, our corporate executives seem happy to move onto
the plantation.

In an op-ed on the opinion page of the Washington Post, Mr.
Obama is clear
that the goal of his trillion dollar spending plan is much more than short
term
economic stimulus.

"This plan is more than a prescription for short-term spending -- it's a
strategy for America 's long-term growth and opportunity in areas such as
renewable energy, healthcare, and education."

Perhaps more incredibly, Obama seems to think that government taking over an
economy is a new idea. Or that massive growth in government can take place
"with unprecedented transparency and accountability."

Yes, sir, we heard it from
Jimmy Carter when he created the Department of Energy, the Synfuels Corporation, and the Department of Education.

Or how about the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 -- The
War on Poverty
which
President Johnson said "...does not merely expand old programs or
improve what is already being done. It charts a new course. It strikes at
the causes, not just the consequences of poverty."

Trillions of dollars later, black poverty is the same. But black families
are not, with triple the incidence of single-parent homes and out-of-wedlock
births.

It's not complicated. Americans can accept
Barack Obama's invitation to move
onto the plantation. Or they can choose personal responsibility and freedom.

Does anyone really need to think about what the choice should be?
Great Mind....Great Face. What a woman!

Really!

AIG just posted the worst 4th quarter lost of any
American company in history. 62 Billion

They lost $460,000 per minute!!!

Q: How much money has the government given AIG?

A: On the brink of failure in September, AIG was bailed out when the government offered it an $85 billion loan during the ongoing credit crisis that saw Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. file for bankruptcy protection and Merrill Lynch & Co. get sold to Bank of America Corp.

Less than a month later, the insurance giant received an additional $37.8 billion loan from the Federal Reserve, and later was granted the ability to access up to an additional $20.9 billion under a new program where the Fed would buy commercial paper — short-term debt often used for day-to-day expenses — from the company.

In November, the U.S. government restructured its loans to AIG, giving the company about $150 billion in total as part of a rescue package to help the company remain in business amid the worsening credit crisis. That package replaced earlier loans after it became apparent the insurer needed more funds.

Update seconds after I posted.

3-2-2009

Reporting from Washington — Federal officials tossed American International Group another financial lifeline today, providing up to $30 billion more to help the staggered insurance giant deal with a record $61.7 billion loss in the final three months of last year.

In this case alone, the American taxpayer is on the hook for $180 Billion to AIG.

This is only one company among dozens!

Another Reason For Revolution

All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.
Thomas Jefferson

Why in the f--- are we doing this? Israel is our ally and only friend in the region. This is a slap in the face to the Israeli people especially Benjamin Netanyahu. Israel suffered an unprovoked attack, and retaliated in a manner that any other country would. We are sending money to Israel's enemy so they can rebuild the Gaza Strip!!! You got to be shittin me!

Hamas (right arm of Iran) caused the problem as they always do. Iran is drowning in oil. Let those dirty bastards pay for it!

Bottom line. This is morally and ethically wrong. Not to mention monetarily. Israel is attacked by Hamas, they retaliate (rightfully so), and the US taxpayer picks up the tab???

By the way, shouldn't we be cutting foreign aid altogether? Who's got the balls to put a plug in this ever flowing money stream? No one in our government! This is total bullshit!

US to give $900m in Gaza aid
Hillary Clinton is to formally announce the aid package
next week, reports say [EPA]

The US is set to offer more than $900m to help rebuild Gaza following Israel's military assault on the Palestinian territory, officials say.

Hillary Clinton, the US secretary of state, is to formally announce the funding at a donor conference in Egypt next week, one US official told the Reuters news agency on Monday.

The money, which would need to be approved by the US congress, is to be distributed through the UN and other bodies and not via Hamas, the Palestinian group which governs Gaza, said one of the officials, who asked to remain anonymous.

The same official said the pledge was a mix of money already earmarked for the Palestinians and some new funding.

Rob Reynolds, Al Jazeera's senior Washington correspondent, said the administration of Barack Obama, the US president, had not moved towards engaging directly with Hamas but had modified some of its language towards dealing with Palestinians in Gaza.

It was prepared to mention Palestinian suffering without directly linking it to the actions of Hamas, our correspondent said.

The US has repeatedly said it will not hold talks with Hamas unless it recognizes Israel, renounces violence and recognizes previous Palestinian peace agreements.

In December, the administration of George Bush, Obama's predecessor, said it would give $85m to the UN agency that provides aid to Palestinian refugees in the West Bank, Gaza, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria.

Surprise..Surprise

What this bitch needs is a freaking bailout!

You are unmarried Nadya Suleman sitting at home watching The View with 6 kids, perhaps wondering during the commercials, who the father is. I don't how, but maybe, she became a little bored. What to do? Of course, call a doctor and ask for vitro fertilization so you can have 8 more kids!

How can we reward her for her stupidity. Lets see.... For starters how about a welfare check for spreading her legs for the first 6? Certainly an increase is in order for the additional 8!

What about the medical bills? Forgetaboutit!

What's that you say? Your home is in foreclosure!

No worries. BHO (aka Abomination) will take care of you with his stimulus plan. (Although..... it seems... you have been stimulated enough already.)

Since the "compassionate" doctor gave you vitro , (not the taxpayer) and probably makes in excess of $300,000 a year, I'm sure he or she will be happy to pay to raise the children and keep your house payment up to date.
