Soooo... elated to read this

Amazon pulls out of plan to build New York City headquarters after AOC among others bemoaned the project

You fuck me. I'll fuck you back.

Ahh...the good news Amazon is coming to town.

That was before Bezos broke out in song giving new meaning to the lyrics...

Start spreadin' the news, I'm leavin' today

Amazon has announced that after opposition from local New York officials, it is dropping plans to move their HQ2 operation to Long Island City.

Amazon announced Thursday it was turning back on its plans to build its second headquarters in New York City, the company said in a statement. The move comes after backlash from lawmakers, notably Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who bemoaned the project.

"After much thought and deliberation, we’ve decided not to move forward with our plans to build a headquarters for Amazon in Long Island City, Queens," the Seattle-based Amazon said in the release.

"For Amazon, the commitment to build a new headquarters requires positive, collaborative relationships with state and local elected officials who will be supportive over the long-term. While polls show that 70% of New Yorkers support our plans and investment, a number of state and local politicians have made it clear that they oppose our presence and will not work with us to build the type of relationships that are required to go forward with the project we and many others envisioned in Long Island City," the statement reads.

The company added that it is "disappointed to have reached this conclusion."

"We are deeply grateful to Governor Cuomo, Mayor de Blasio, and their staffs, who so enthusiastically and graciously invited us to build in New York City and supported us during the process," the company continued in the statement.

In a statement provided to Fox News, de Blasio said that New York City gave Amazon an opportunity and it "threw away that opportunity."

"You have to be tough to make it in New York City. We gave Amazon the opportunity to be a good neighbor and do business in the greatest city in the world," de Blasio said in the statement. "Instead of working with the community, Amazon threw away that opportunity. We have the best talent in the world and every day we are growing a stronger and fairer economy for everyone. If Amazon can’t recognize what that’s worth, its competitors will.”

Ocasio-Cortez tweeted that "anything is possible," taking a victory lap upon hearing the news.

Bankrate.com's senior economic analyst Mark Hamrick called it a "stunning development," adding: "For those who didn’t want Amazon to bring the promised 25,000 new jobs and added economic vitality to the area: Be careful what you wish for."

The opposition against HQ2 has been mounting in recent months. In December, for example, Amazon execs were grilled and jeered at a New York City Council meeting over the deal.

Earlier this month, reports surfaced that Amazon was reconsidering its plans for its New York office, which led to cheers from Ocasio-Cortez. "Can everyday people come together and effectively organize against creeping overreach of one of the world’s biggest corporations? Yes, they can," the freshman lawmaker tweeted.

Ocasio-Cortez has also slammed the company for having a bias in its facial recognition technology.

Amazon said it would proceed as planned with the second part of its HQ2, which will be built in Northern Virginia, as well as its distribution center that it said it would open in Nashville. It will also continue to "hire and grow across our 17 corporate offices and tech hubs in the U.S. and Canada."

The deal was greeted with much fanfare when it was announced last year and was lauded as a major economic boost.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio had touted the benefits of Amazon's HQ2, which included a pledge from the tech giant to create 25,000 jobs, paying an average of $150,000 per year in exchange for a slew of city and state tax breaks and subsidies worth up to $3 billion.

In addition to the 25,000 jobs, Amazon would've brought $2.5 billion in Amazon investment and eventually 8 million square feet of office space to Long Island City as part of its investment announced last November. The Seattle-based company said it would have generated "incremental tax revenue of more than $10 billion over the next 20 years as a result of Amazon’s investment and job creation."

According to a December Quinnipiac University poll, 57 percent of New York City residents support Amazon’s arrival in the region, compared to just 26 percent who oppose the deal, Fox Business previously reported.

Amazon faced fierce opposition over the tax breaks it was offered in New York, with critics complaining that the project was an extravagant giveaway to one of the world's biggest companies and that it wouldn't provide much direct benefit to most New Yorkers.

"This announcement marks a landmark victory for our communities and shows the power of the people, even when taking on the world's richest man," said Deborah Axt, co-executive director of the anti-poverty group Make the Road New York.

She said the Amazon was getting "taxpayer giveaways" so that it could "force its empire-building on our neighborhoods."

There had also been concerns about what Amazon's decision could do to already rising real estate prices in the area, but Hamrick said Thursday's announcement won't solve those problems.

"From a broader view, this decision will do nothing to resolve the challenges associated with housing affordability voiced by critics of the Amazon decision and the generous tax incentives offered by government," Hamrick said in comments obtained by Fox News. "That requires a bigger conversation which could very well unfold along with the 2020 election cycle."

Ted Cruz wants drug kingpin "El Chapo" to fund Trump's border wall

This has been discussed for the last few days which is a no brainer and when you say no brainer Democrats immediately come to mind. I knew they would criticize Cruz's plan and come up with some sort of obstruction. Just didn't know the line of crap yet. Watched a panel discussing Cruz's plan on FOX yesterday. Hope you're sitting down for this. The Democrats don't want to use El Chapo's billions...ready for this... (they're repulsed) because it's "blood money". Wait a minute. Isn't this the same party that has no problem killing the newborn? Wonder what the Dems would do if Jesus Christ came down and said, "With the wave of my hand so shall you have a wall."

I could see it now.

--------------------------------------

While Washington continues to debate funding over President Trump's long-promised border wall along the southern border, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, says he has a solution for financing: Have convicted drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman foot the bill. Cruz tweeted the proposal after Guzman was found guilty on all 10 counts in his criminal conspiracy and drug trafficking trial, saying that the $14 billion dollars in drug profits U.S. prosecutors are seeking from the infamous drug lord "should go towards funding our wall to secure the border."

Cruz urged his colleagues on Capitol Hill to pass his "El Chapo Act" which he previously re-introduced early last month. The "Ensuring Lawful Collection of Hidden Assets to Provide Order (EL CHAPO) Act" would reserve any amounts forfeited to the U.S. Government as a result of the criminal prosecution of "El Chapo" and any other drug lords "for border security assets and the completion of the wall along the U.S.-Mexico border," Cruz said.

Liberal read it.

Prosecutors cited an "avalanche" of evidence gathered since the late 1980s that Guzman and his murderous Sinaloa drug cartel made billions in profits by smuggling tons of cocaine, heroin, meth and marijuana into the U.S.

Evidence showed drugs poured into the U.S. through secret tunnels or hidden in tanker trucks, concealed in the undercarriage of passenger cars and packed in rail cars passing through legitimate points of entry.

"Congress has a clear mandate from the American people: secure the border and build the wall," Cruz said in a statement.

"Ensuring the safety and security of Texans is one of my top priorities. Indeed, I have long called for building a wall as a necessary step in defending our border. Fourteen billion dollars will go a long way to secure our southern border, and hinder the illegal flow of drugs, weapons, and individuals. By leveraging any criminally forfeited assets of El Chapo and other murderous drug lords, we can offset the cost of securing our border and make meaningful progress toward delivering on the promises made to the American people," he added.

While congressional lawmakers reached an "agreement in principle" on border security funding this week, Mr. Trump has remained adamant that despite negotiations, his border wall will be built.

"Regardless of wall money, it is being built as we speak!" the president tweeted on Tuesday.

Asked about Cruz's proposal to pay for the wall, Mr. Trump later reporters at the White House on Wednesday, "Well it's always interesting. Anything Ted does is interesting. So that's certainly an interesting one."

I say exterminate the Democrats and be done with it

Key Colorado House committee passes bill to decide presidential elections by popular vote, not Electoral college

Throw in NY and there's no sense even having an election.

The Dems will need a Constitutional amendment to pull this off and that ain’t gonna be easy.

-------------------------------------------------------

A Colorado state house committee overwhelmingly voted this week to advance a bill that would award the state’s votes to whichever candidate wins the nationwide popular vote in a presidential election.

The State, Veterans, & Military Affairs Committee passed the measure along party lines in a 6-3 vote late Tuesday, sending the legislation to the state’s full House chamber, The Associated Press reports.

Senate Bill 42, also known as the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, would require the state’s electors to the Electoral College to cast a vote for whichever presidential candidate wins the national popular vote instead of following the state’s results.

The bill has prompted fierce opposition from Republican lawmakers in the state who claim the legislation is unconstitutional and would subvert the Founding Fathers’ idea of an Electoral College.

The bill, which was recently cleared by the state’s Democratic-controlled Senate, would allow Colorado to join 11 other states and the District of Columbia in the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact — which was launched after Al Gore lost the presidential election to George W. Bush in 2000 despite winning the popular vote.

But the legislation would only would only take effect if states can round up enough electoral votes to influence the Electoral College’s final vote tally.

The states involved in the pact only have 172 electoral votes at present, which is 98 votes short of the 270 votes needed to win the Electoral College.

State Rep. Jeni Arndt (D), who co-sponsored the bill along with state Rep. Emily Sirota (D) and state Sen. Mike Foote (D), told The Associated Press that the concept is “not new, and it hasn't always been partisan.”

"We actually see this as a constitutionally conservative approach," Sirota told the news agency. "This bill is about making sure every vote is equal and matters."

The bill is now headed to the Colorado State House for consideration.

If passed, the bill will head to the desk of Gov. Jared Polis (D), who also supports the measure.

FBI investigating fire at Missouri Planned Parenthood clinic as possible hate crime

The agency said surveillance video shows a person wearing dark clothing entering the Planned Parenthood-Columbia Health Center early Sunday.

----------------

If this don't beat all. Burning down the building is a hate crime but the slaughter of newborns inside the building is perfectly acceptable.

--------------------------------------

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A fire at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Columbia, Missouri, was intentionally set and is being investigated as a possible hate crime, the FBI said in a statement Tuesday.

The agency also said it is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction of anyone responsible for the fire early Sunday.

The FBI said surveillance video shows a person wearing dark clothing entering the Planned Parenthood-Columbia Health Center about 4:05 a.m. Sunday. When that person later walked out of the clinic, smoke could be seen coming from the building, according to the agency.

No one was inside the building when the fire was reported. The building's sprinkler system extinguished the fire before Columbia firefighters arrived. Firefighters told police the fire was "suspicious in nature," Columbia police said.

Federal civil rights crimes investigated by the FBI include violations of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, which makes it a crime to intentionally damage or destroy the property of a facility because it provides reproductive health services.

Planned Parenthood president and CEO Dr. Brandon Hill said in a statement Tuesday that the clinic will remain closed for the rest of the week. The staff hopes to reopen next week and is working with patients to reschedule appointments, he said.

Hill said as the investigation continues it is clear the fire was intentional aimed to disrupting services and block patient access to sexual and reproductive health care.

"Make no mistake -- we are committed to provide care in the Columbia community, and this crime will not deter us from our mission," he said.

The Columbia clinic does not currently provide abortions because of new state regulations that took effect last year requiring abortion doctors to have admitting physician privileges at nearby hospitals. Finding a doctor with those privileges became more difficult after the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia stopped offering the privileges in 2015.

Planned Parenthood has unsuccessfully sought a legal exemption to the requirements, leaving a clinic in St. Louis as the only one that provides abortions in Missouri.

The Daily Mail Headline:

National debt tops $22 TRILLION for the first time, fueled by Trump's $1.5trillion tax cut and increased spending on the military

This is what you call yellow journalism at its finest. It implies Trump is to blame instead of this fuck.

Of course, in the DM article below the biggest contributor to the national debt (Obama), his name is never even mentioned. Look it up. Barry increased the national more than any other president in history! He inherited a $10.6 trillion dollar debt from Bush and in 8 years drove it to just shy of $20 trillion!

Remember when Rush talked about 'low information' voters?

They fall for it every time.

--------------------------------------

The national debt has passed a new milestone, topping $22trillion for the first time.

The Treasury Department's daily statement showed Tuesday that total outstanding public debt stands at $22.01trillion.

It stood at $19.95 trillion when President Donald Trump took office on January 20, 2017.

The debt figure has been rising at a faster pace following passage of Trump's $1.5trillion tax cut in December 2017 and action by Congress last year to increase spending on domestic and military programs.

The national debt has passed a new milestone, topping $22 trillion for the first time

Michael Peterson, head of the Peter G. Peterson Foundation, says 'our growing national debt matters because it threatens the economic future of every American.'

Peterson said that interest on the national debt already costs more than $1 billion daily, and 'as we borrow trillion after trillion, interest costs will weigh on our economy and make it harder to fund important investments for our future.'

The national debt is the total of the annual budget deficits.

The Congressional Budget Office projects this year's deficit will be $897 billion, which would be a 15.1 percent increase over last year's imbalance of $779 billion.

The CBO is projecting that the deficit will keep rising in coming years and will top $1 trillion annually beginning in 2022 and never drop below $1 trillion through 2029.

Much of the increase will come from rising costs to fund Social Security and Medicare as baby boomers retire.

The Trump administration contends that its tax cuts will eventually pay for themselves by generating faster economic growth.
