When does the challenge become a crisis?

ICE asks for volunteers to send to border 'as soon as this weekend' as south Texas migrant complex is seven times over capacity

More than 3,500 unaccompanied teens and children have been held in Customs Border Patrol (CBP) detention centers designed for adults in recent days

Most children are spending on average 108 hours in the cramped CBP facilities, DHS data shows, dwarfing the 72-hour limit

The official line from the Biden administration continues to be there is no crisis

Yet anonymous Biden officials warned Friday they do not have the capacity to increase beds to meet demand from the record number of migrants

The CBP detained or processed a staggering 100,441 migrants in February including nearly 10,000 unaccompanied children - levels not seen since 2019

ICE's Michael Meade called for 'immediate' deployment of available personnel to the border this week as he warned the influx will 'grow over the coming months'

Children at one facility in south Texas are going hungry and are only able to shower once every seven days as the center is at 729% of its legal capacity

George Floyd's family gets $27 million settlement

Philonise Floyd

“I thank the state of Minnesota for getting this settlement taken care of. But even though my brother is not here, he is here with me in my heart. Because if I could get him back, I would give all of this back.”

Cut the camera for a dose of reality:

Philonise Floyd gave passionate remarks, Friday, in memory of his brother George… after the city of Minneapolis agreed to pay 27 million dollars to settle a wrongful death lawsuit by Floyd’s family.

The death of George Floyd - a 46-year-old Black man, whose dying pleas for help as a white officer knelt on his neck were captured on a widely viewed video - sparked one of the largest protest movements ever seen in the United States.

Floyd family attorney Benjamin Crump said the settlement is historic for the impact on social justice, policy reforms and police reforms.

"This historic agreement, the largest pre-trial settlement in a police civil rights wrongful death case in U.S. history makes a statement (flash) that George Floyd's life matters. And by extension, Black lives matter."

The settlement includes a $500,000 contribution from Floyd's family to the community at the Minneapolis intersection where Floyd died, which has been barricaded against police access by residents.

Crump said the money would help uplift Black businesses there, which have suffered a toll in the past 10 months.

Friday's settlement coincides with the trial of the officer charged in Floyd's death.

Derek Chauvin - who was fired by the police force after last year's incident has pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and manslaughter.

It’s not a snarkey meme

It's a statement of fact. I just can't understand the mindset. They want to pass this 'Covid bill’ because it benefits them and they're out of control spending (mostly pension plans in blue states that are in no way sustainable) I don't like it but I get it. What I don't understand, and this happened a few weeks ago, how could you even comprehend the thought of giving the Gitmo dogs the vaccine before the American people? If there wasn't some blowback about it they would have done it. Think about this. How in the hell does that even enter your mind? Where is the benefit?

I get they want illegals in the country, although you would think most Americans like me would be outraged by this, that doesn’t seem to be the case. So there they have another voting block. Again, they come to our country illegally, and to top that off some have Covid and the assholes release them into our country. Where is the outrage what is the benefit?

Another example of lunacy instead of giving money to Saint Jude's hospital, Paralyzed Veterans, Wounded Warriors, etc. The Covid money is going to killers like Dylann Roof, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, Nidal Malik Hasan... Where is the sanity in this... what is the upside? What are they going to do go to Sandals Resort for a week?

The thing that pisses me off even more than the Dems is most Americans just plain don't give a shit about it!

And that's why we have the government we have.

Illegals show up at southern border wearing Biden T-shirts saying, 'Please let us in!'

NEWS
He asked for it

How much more obvious can it get Bribem is in the tank for illegals?

And his administration is telling us... "It's not a crisis at the border it's a challenge". Really, there are four times the daily apprehensions that their were under Trump!

It would be more likely for Pelosi to speak at the RNC than for an illegal to be wearing a Trump T-shirt.
Wonder who paid for the shirts?

A large group of migrants were photographed Tuesday at the U.S.-Mexico border near California wearing T-shirts that urged President Joe Biden to let them into the country.

The migrants were reportedly staging a protest at the San Ysidro crossing point in Tijuana, Baja California, according to Spanish language news outlet Chapines USA. During the rally, they demanded that the new president keep his campaign promises to enact more lenient immigration policies.

Men, women, children — and reportedly some entire families — participated in the protest, while armed Border Patrol agents stood guard. Many of the migrants were wearing T-shirts and carryings signs with Biden's campaign logo on display along with a message: "Please let us in!"

The news comes amid an ongoing crisis at the U.S. southern border, as unprecedented numbers of migrants surge into the country with the expectation that the new administration will be more lax on immigration enforcement than the previous one.

The Department of Homeland Security announced this week that it projects 117,000 unaccompanied migrant children will illegally enter the U.S. this year. During last month alone, 6,000 migrants between the ages of 16 and 17 were caught crossing the border, and the pace is expected to increase.

Scrambling to keep up with the rapid influx, the Biden administration has elected to reopen migrant children housing facilities — a practice widely condemned by leftist immigration activists during Trump's presidency — and has even authorized officials to purchase plane tickets to fly migrant children to relatives' residences in the U.S.

But even so, the shelters are expected to reach full capacity within weeks and the administration knows it is woefully unprepared. During a briefing given to Biden on Tuesday, the Domestic Policy Council requested that some 20,000 beds be made available in short order to handle the surge of new migrant children.

Yet while the administration internally is in full-blown crisis mode, several officials, including the president himself, have flatly rejected characterizing it in such a way.

"We'll be able to handle it, God willing," Biden said Tuesday, according to Bloomberg News. When asked whether the surge constituted a crisis, the president offered a frank denial, stating, "No."
