James Comey violated FBI policies with memos on Trump discussions, IG report says

WASHINGTON (AP) — Former FBI Director James Comey violated FBI policies in his handling of memos documenting private conversations with President Donald Trump, the Justice Department’s inspector general said Thursday.

The watchdog office said Comey broke bureau rules by giving one memo containing unclassified information to a friend with instructions to share the contents with a reporter. Comey also failed to notify the FBI after he was dismissed in May 2017 that he had retained some of the memos in a safe at home, the report said.

“By not safeguarding sensitive information obtained during the course of his FBI employment, and by using it to create public pressure for official action, Comey set a dangerous example for the over 35,000 current FBI employees_and the many thousands more former FBI employees_who similarly have access to or knowledge of non-public information,” the report says.

After this report, Comey had the balls to Tweet this out like he was completely exonerated and we're supposed to feel sorry for him.

The DOJ is not going to prosecute probably because Barr knows Trump's hatred for Comey and doesn't want to appear he's in the tank for Trump.

Remember the investigation is still on-going as in the unverified dirty dossier submitted to the FISA court in order to make sure that a Special Counsel was created to investigate the president. But I'm not holding my breath.

Comey detailed his conversation with the president during a dinner with Trump at the White House on January 28.

“I said I don’t do sneaky things, I don’t leak, I don’t do weasel moves,” Comey wrote in the memo, promising that he would “always tell him the truth.”
