American Tax Dollars At Work

AIG Bombshells: $1.2B in Bonuses, Over $100B Paid to Goldman, Other Banks

Posted Mar 16, 2009 11:34am EDT by Aaron Task in Newsmakers, Banking

Updated from 11:34 a.m. ET

Update: President Obama has instructed Tim Geithner to "pursue every legal avenue to block these bonuses" planned for AIG executive. It's "hard to warrant any bonuses" at AIG and there is no way to "justify this outrage," the President said midday at the White House. After tripping over his words at one point, the President said, "I am choked up with anger," a familiar feeling in America today.

Earlier: Every time AIG is in the news, it's almost guaranteed to provoke a gag reaction from American taxpayers and policymakers. This weekend was no different as two stories of bailout abuse and outrageous behavior came to light:

First, AIG was lambasted as disclosures of its $1.2 billion bonus pool came to light. About $450 million of the bonuses were planned for employees of its financial services unit, the rogue hedge fund insider the insurer, which lost $40.5 billion later year. The Wall Street Journal reports at least seven individuals at that unit were due bonus payments of $3 million each.

AIG CEO Edward Liddy says "the firm's hands are tied" because those bonus payments are "contractual commitments"; apparently, both he and regulators fear the fallout of trying to abrogate contracts, which may be legally binding but were signed before AIG became a ward of the state.

Second, in part to quell the outrage over the bonus revelations - which apparently only came to light because a $165 million payment was due on Sunday - AIG released the names of its counterparties who, thus far, have received at least $90 billion of the $173 billion of government funds the firm has received in what amounts to a backdoor bailout of Wall Street firms, banks and foreign institutions. (Reports vary but Bloomberg says the counterparties got $105 billion of AIG bailout funds.)

Along with Merrill Lynch, Bank of America and Citigroup, the prime beneficiaries of the AIG bailout bonanza include European banking giants Societe Generale, Deustche Bank and Barclays.

But at $12.9 billion to date, Goldman Sachs is at the top of the list AIG bailout beneficiaries. This only reinforces the perception the AIG bailout was really a bailout of Hank Paulson's former firm. And, by the way, AIG's Liddy had to resign from Goldman's board in order to take the AIG job last fall.

Are you outraged yet? The good news is you're not alone: Ben Bernanke, Tim Geithner, Larry Summers, NY Fed President (and ex-Goldman economist) William Dudley, Rep. Barney Frank, Sen. Bob Corker and others have each expressed anger and outrage over the AIG bonuses and payments to counterparties.

The real question is what they, and President Barack Obama, are going to do about it? The really scary thing is there's no end in sight to these AIG outrages, unless we make a major change of course - pronto.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

AIG and Bernie Madoff are the same. Only difference is AIG's not trying to cover it up.

How could anyone in their right mind think they should be rewarded for driving a once prosperous company into the ground???

How many more outrageous events have to occur at AIG before Edward Lilly is fired?

Like I said time and time again who is watching where the money is going. Would they even be getting a bonus if suckers like us didn't give them billions?

Everybody is outraged. I wonder? Frank, Schumer, and Dodd are using this as a deflection to keep our attention off the Stimulus Bill. These executives should be shot but this is small potatoes compared to the wasteful spending of billions on pork in the Stimulus Bill!

By the way, Barney Frank should be the last one to say anything. If a statue could be sculpted with a blend of incompetency and dishonesty it would be in the likeness of Barney Frank.

Pet Sematary

Sematary instead of cemetery? Remember this disgusting book. Later to be made into a movie. Somehow I was conned into going to the movie. Honestly I almost walked out. I have walked out of movies before, and should have this time.

However, this movie will serve some purpose, and that is to make a point.

To put this garbage in context a couple with two young kids living in Maine has a cat that is run over in front of their home. On their next door neighbor's advice they take the cat to the pet sematary to bury it. The next afternoon the cat returns home. It smells of death, with an unearthly look and weird eyes. Birds and mice are torn apart, not to eat, but for shear pleasure.

A while later the guy's son is run over by a Mack truck. He burys his son at the pet sematary.
Shortly thereafter the kid returns home, possessing all the skills of a demon, he now resembles "Chucky". First he kills the next door neighbor. Then his own mother.

Finally realizing what a monster he is the father is forced to kill his son. He then gets the bright idea to bury his wife (the son had just killed) in the pet sematary. Even if you didn't see the movie, I bet you could guess the result.

OK. Three days later she taps him on the shoulder and says........."Darling."

If you do the same thing, you get the same results!

If there is a moral in this story I guess it would be:

  1. Don't mess with mother nature....or
  2. Don't interrupt the Yin and Yang of the natural world...or
  3. My favorite. Don't defy the will of God by trying to change the universal progression of... death follows life.

Simply put. Some things are better off dead.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You are probably wondering.... what the hell does this have to do with politics!

Two words. Free market.

Our government has become the "Pet Sematary."

First Bush and now BHO is the caretaker of the "Pet Semetary." They are interfering with the natural progression of the free market system. You cannot artificially keep something alive that desperately needs to die. Banks that have made poor business decisions (if you had a pulse you got a mortgage) will be absorbed by banks following sound business practices. Our democracy is set up with laws to provide for this contingency. Its called bankruptcy.

Lets take the case of insurance giant AIG. Just recently they announced they lost 62B last quarter. The biggest lost of any company in the history of the world! So the "Pet Sematary" sent them another 30B. Last time I checked a share of stock in AIG was worth 43 cents; their market cap was 1.16B. Essentially that is net worth of the company. . All told, the taxpayer (so far) is on the hook to AIG for a staggering 180B!!!

I hate like hell to see the car companies go out of business. The fact of the matter is:

GM said it would need up to $30 billion from the U.S. Treasury to continue operating. GM has already received $13.4 billion.

Chrysler wants $2 billion more on top of the $4 billion it has already received and the $3 billion it is expecting from Washington.

To its credit Ford has not asked for loans. Makes me want to buy a Ford!

Here again with the big three bankruptcy is in order. File for it, restructure, and get rid of the UAW. Maybe a merger is also on the agenda.
The big three have been losing market share since 1962. GM's market capitalization is smaller than Harley-Davidson's. In 1962 half the cars sold in America were made by GM. Now its market share is roughly 25 percent. In 1999 the Big Three -- GM, Ford, Chrysler -- had a 71 percent market share. Their share is now 58 percent and falling. How will throwing billions of dollars at it with the same management effect a different outcome?

But wait. The "Pet Sematary" will tell you, "They're to big to fail!" No there not. They're to inept to succeed. The answer is file bankruptcy, restructure, or merge. The only true test of achievement is result. You can't turn a jackass into a race horse no matter how much money you throw at it.

Another word the "Pet Sematary" likes to throw around is transparency. What exactly is that? Its the full, accurate, and timely disclosure of information. The other "Chucky." (rhymes with Schumer) said this recently, "Yeah, there's a lot of pork in the bill... but so what the American people don't care!" Well I must say. He is transparent. Not only is he is going to shove it up our ass, but he's going to rub our nose in it too!

Shovel-ready is another catch word they like to use. You better have one ready to dig your way out of debt because Pelosi is already talking about... Stimulus II... The Sequel.

When you're in your car and its 96 degrees and a dead animal is lying on the side of the road you can barely stand the smell. A month later you drive by the exact same spot and you can't smell or see anything.

With the stroke of a pen we have put a scar on future generations of Americans by paying 787Billion to clean up a stink that the free market system would have naturally taken care of all by itself.

If only we would have given it a chance to work.

To Gain A Perspective

(From a email I received)

What does one TRILLION dollars look like?

All this talk about "stimulus packages" and "bailouts"...

A billion dollars...

A hundred billion dollars...

Eight hundred billion dollars...

One TRILLION dollars...

What does that look like? I mean, these various numbers are tossed around like so many doggie treats, so I thought I'd take Google Sketchup <http://sketchup.google.com/> out for a test drive and try to get a sense of what exactly a trillion dollars looks like.

We'll start with a $100 dollar bill. Currently the largest U.S. denomination in general circulation. Most everyone has seen them, slighty fewer have owned them. Guaranteed to make friends wherever they go.

A packet of one hundred $100 bills is less than 1/2" thick and contains $10,000. Fits in your pocket easily and is more than enough for week or two of shamefully decadent fun.

Believe it or not, this next little pile is $1 million dollars (100 packets of $10,000). You could stuff that into a grocery bag and walk around with it.

While a measly $1 million looked a little unimpressive, $100 million is a little more respectable. It fits neatly on a standard pallet...

And $1 BILLION dollars... now we're really getting somewhere...

Next we'll look at ONE TRILLION dollars. This is that number we've been hearing about so much. What is a trillion dollars? Well, it's a million million. It's a thousand billion. It's a one followed by 12 zeros.

You ready for this?

It's pretty surprising.

Go ahead...

Scroll down...

Ladies and gentlemen... I give you $1 trillion dollars...

The guy is so small you can barely see him in the left corner

(And notice those pallets are double stacked.)

So the next time you hear someone toss around the phrase "trillion dollars"... that's what they're talking about.

The estimated population of the United States is 305,788,992
so each citizen's share of this debt is $35,857.51.

The National Debt has continued to increase an average of
$3.70 billion per day since September 28, 2007!

Bernie...You Are Sooooo Right!

The True (and Pathetic) Story

of the Torrid Romance Between
Barack Obama and the Mainstream Media

True...? You bet your ass!

The question is... how long will the media be able to prop this guy up?

I was in my local supermarket the other day. For some reason I walked down the magazine aisle. I never walk down that aisle. Why? There is no food. Don't ask what I was doing in that aisle but there I was. Surrounding me were dozens of publications with BHO on the cover. I was stunned at the number. I swear half of them must have had his picture on the cover.

When I finished shopping I stood in line at the check out counter. My turn came and I began emptying my cart and putting my stuff on the counter. As I was doing this I looked up to see M&M's on the display rack. No not the candy. Michelle and the Messiah. There they were. Plastered on the cover of just about every tabloid. Brad and Angelina looked so alone I almost felt sorry for them.

After I got home and put everything away, I sat down and turned on the TV. Some guy was trying to sell me an Obama plate for $19.95. Somehow, listening to the guy, I got the feeling Obama and Abraham Lincoln were related. You know, like Arrr..nold and Devito. Twins. He said, "But wait...if you act now we'll send you two sets. That's right.. two sets for $19.95...but you have to act now!"

Reality

Gitmo to be closed down
Unparalleled spending going up
Throwing good money after bad
Cutting money to the military to look good
Market in free-fall
Taxes going up
Deductions going away

Hope and change, its not. Tax and spend, it is. Same shit. Different face.

This slobbering love affair is already beginning to show chinks in its armour... degrading as I write this... headed south... down the path... the torrid romance turning into the Saga of OJ & Nicole.

Back On Uncle Sam's Plantation

By Star Parker

Six years ago I wrote a book called Uncle Sam's Plantation. I wrote the book
To tell my own story of what I saw living inside the
welfare state and my
own transformation out of it.

I said in that book that indeed there are two Americas -- a poor America on
socialism and a wealthy America on capitalism.

I talked about government programs like Temporary Assistance for Needy
Families (TANF), Job Opportunities and
Basic Skills Training (JOBS),
Emergency Assistance to Needy Families with Children (EANF),
Section 8 Housing, and Food Stamps.

A vast sea of perhaps well-intentioned government programs, all initially
set into motion in the 1960s, that were going to lift the nation's poor out
of poverty.

A benevolent
Uncle Sam welcomed mostly poor black Americans onto the
government plantation.

Those who accepted the invitation switched mindsets
from "How do I take care of myself?" to "What do I have to do to stay on the
plantation?"

Instead of solving
economic problems, government welfare socialism created
monstrous moral and spiritual problems -- the kind of problems that are
inevitable when individuals turn responsibility for their lives over to
others.

The legacy of American socialism is our blighted
inner cities, dysfunctional inner city schools, and broken black families.

Through God's grace, I found my way out. It was then that I understood what
freedom meant and how great this country is.

I had the privilege of working on
welfare reform in 1996, passed by a Republican Congress and signed 50 percent.

I thought we were on the road to moving socialism out of our poor black
communities and replacing it with wealth-producing
American capitalism.

But, incredibly, we are going in the opposite direction.

Instead of poor America on socialism becoming more like rich American on
capitalism, rich America on capitalism is becoming like poor America on
socialism.

Uncle Sam has welcomed our banks onto the plantation and they have said,
"Thank you, Suh."

Now, instead of thinking about what creative things need to be done to serve
customers, they are thinking about what they have to tell Massah in order to
get their cash.

There is some kind of irony that this is all happening under our first black
president on the 200th anniversary of the birthday of
Abraham Lincoln.

Worse, socialism seems to be the element of our new young president. And
maybe even more troubling, our corporate executives seem happy to move onto
the plantation.

In an op-ed on the opinion page of the Washington Post, Mr.
Obama is clear
that the goal of his trillion dollar spending plan is much more than short
term
economic stimulus.

"This plan is more than a prescription for short-term spending -- it's a
strategy for America 's long-term growth and opportunity in areas such as
renewable energy, healthcare, and education."

Perhaps more incredibly, Obama seems to think that government taking over an
economy is a new idea. Or that massive growth in government can take place
"with unprecedented transparency and accountability."

Yes, sir, we heard it from
Jimmy Carter when he created the Department of Energy, the Synfuels Corporation, and the Department of Education.

Or how about the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 -- The
War on Poverty
which
President Johnson said "...does not merely expand old programs or
improve what is already being done. It charts a new course. It strikes at
the causes, not just the consequences of poverty."

Trillions of dollars later, black poverty is the same. But black families
are not, with triple the incidence of single-parent homes and out-of-wedlock
births.

It's not complicated. Americans can accept
Barack Obama's invitation to move
onto the plantation. Or they can choose personal responsibility and freedom.

Does anyone really need to think about what the choice should be?
Great Mind....Great Face. What a woman!

Yeah...Right

Really!

AIG just posted the worst 4th quarter lost of any
American company in history. 62 Billion

They lost $460,000 per minute!!!

Q: How much money has the government given AIG?

A: On the brink of failure in September, AIG was bailed out when the government offered it an $85 billion loan during the ongoing credit crisis that saw Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. file for bankruptcy protection and Merrill Lynch & Co. get sold to Bank of America Corp.

Less than a month later, the insurance giant received an additional $37.8 billion loan from the Federal Reserve, and later was granted the ability to access up to an additional $20.9 billion under a new program where the Fed would buy commercial paper — short-term debt often used for day-to-day expenses — from the company.

In November, the U.S. government restructured its loans to AIG, giving the company about $150 billion in total as part of a rescue package to help the company remain in business amid the worsening credit crisis. That package replaced earlier loans after it became apparent the insurer needed more funds.

Update seconds after I posted.

3-2-2009

Reporting from Washington — Federal officials tossed American International Group another financial lifeline today, providing up to $30 billion more to help the staggered insurance giant deal with a record $61.7 billion loss in the final three months of last year.

In this case alone, the American taxpayer is on the hook for $180 Billion to AIG.

This is only one company among dozens!

Another Reason For Revolution

All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.
Thomas Jefferson

Why in the f--- are we doing this? Israel is our ally and only friend in the region. This is a slap in the face to the Israeli people especially Benjamin Netanyahu. Israel suffered an unprovoked attack, and retaliated in a manner that any other country would. We are sending money to Israel's enemy so they can rebuild the Gaza Strip!!! You got to be shittin me!

Hamas (right arm of Iran) caused the problem as they always do. Iran is drowning in oil. Let those dirty bastards pay for it!

Bottom line. This is morally and ethically wrong. Not to mention monetarily. Israel is attacked by Hamas, they retaliate (rightfully so), and the US taxpayer picks up the tab???

By the way, shouldn't we be cutting foreign aid altogether? Who's got the balls to put a plug in this ever flowing money stream? No one in our government! This is total bullshit!

US to give $900m in Gaza aid
Hillary Clinton is to formally announce the aid package
next week, reports say [EPA]

The US is set to offer more than $900m to help rebuild Gaza following Israel's military assault on the Palestinian territory, officials say.

Hillary Clinton, the US secretary of state, is to formally announce the funding at a donor conference in Egypt next week, one US official told the Reuters news agency on Monday.

The money, which would need to be approved by the US congress, is to be distributed through the UN and other bodies and not via Hamas, the Palestinian group which governs Gaza, said one of the officials, who asked to remain anonymous.

The same official said the pledge was a mix of money already earmarked for the Palestinians and some new funding.

Rob Reynolds, Al Jazeera's senior Washington correspondent, said the administration of Barack Obama, the US president, had not moved towards engaging directly with Hamas but had modified some of its language towards dealing with Palestinians in Gaza.

It was prepared to mention Palestinian suffering without directly linking it to the actions of Hamas, our correspondent said.

The US has repeatedly said it will not hold talks with Hamas unless it recognizes Israel, renounces violence and recognizes previous Palestinian peace agreements.

In December, the administration of George Bush, Obama's predecessor, said it would give $85m to the UN agency that provides aid to Palestinian refugees in the West Bank, Gaza, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria.

Surprise..Surprise

What this bitch needs is a freaking bailout!

You are unmarried Nadya Suleman sitting at home watching The View with 6 kids, perhaps wondering during the commercials, who the father is. I don't how, but maybe, she became a little bored. What to do? Of course, call a doctor and ask for vitro fertilization so you can have 8 more kids!

How can we reward her for her stupidity. Lets see.... For starters how about a welfare check for spreading her legs for the first 6? Certainly an increase is in order for the additional 8!

What about the medical bills? Forgetaboutit!

What's that you say? Your home is in foreclosure!

No worries. BHO (aka Abomination) will take care of you with his stimulus plan. (Although..... it seems... you have been stimulated enough already.)

Since the "compassionate" doctor gave you vitro , (not the taxpayer) and probably makes in excess of $300,000 a year, I'm sure he or she will be happy to pay to raise the children and keep your house payment up to date.

Obama...I'm starting to wonder

http://outfoxingkarlrove.files.wordpress.com/2008/11/daschle-obama.jpg

I have never liked Obama. I could never like a liberal. Its not the man, its the liberal thought process that boggles the mind. One thing about Obama. He's not stupid....until now!

Wouldn't you have thought after the first screw up he would have investigated these people more thoroughly before announcing any more embarrassing appointments? If this were a Republican administration the media would have a field day!

There certainly are two sets of rules in the IRS. One for them.... One for us.

Leno said. "They think IRS satnds for I'm Really Sorry!"

1. New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, had to withdraw weeks earlier because of an investigation into alleged ''pay-to-play'' politics at home.

2. Timothy Geithner belatedly paid $34,000 in back income taxes, and $8,000 in interest. He was eventually confirmed as treasury secretary. No Fine.

3. Nancy Killefer, who was nominated to a top budget post but had failed to pay unemployment compensation taxes for domestic help and had a lien placed on her home as a result. She asked Obama to withdraw her nomination. No Fine.

4. Tom Daschle withdrew his nomination to be secretary of health and human services. Daschle, a former senator, last month paid more than $140,000 in back taxes and interest, most of it owed for his chauffeured luxury car, which he enjoyed as a loan from a private-equity firm he advised. He also reported that he had earned $5 million in two years, largely from industry groups. No Fine.

5. A Senate committee abruptly canceled a session to consider President Obama's nomination of Rep. Hilda Solis to be labor secretary in the wake of a report saying that her husband yesterday paid about $6,400 to settle tax liens against his business -- including liens that had been outstanding for as long as 16 years. No Fine.

Rangle's not directly invovled in this but he forgot to pay his taxes also.

"President Obama has asked the Senate to cut $50 billion from the economic stimulus plan. Yeah, Obama says the government will no longer need the $50 billion once everyone in his Cabinet pays their back taxes." --Conan O'Brien

From an email that was sent to me.

On the changing of the guard in Washington.......

Outgoing President George W. Bush quietly boards his helicopter and leaves for Texas, commenting only: "Today is not about me. Today is a historical day for our nation and people."

Eight years ago yesterday:

Outgoing President Bill Clinton schedules two separate radio addresses to the nation, and organizes a public farewell speech/rally in downtown Washington D.C. scheduled to directly conflict with incoming President Bush's inauguration ceremony.

Yesterday:

President Bush leaves office without issuing a single Presidential pardon, only granting a commutation of sentence to two former border patrol agents convicted of shooting a convicted drug smuggler. He does not grant any type of clemency to Scooter Libby or any other former political aide, ally, or business partner.

Eight years ago yesterday:

President Clinton issues 140 pardons and several commutations of sentence on his final day in office. Included in these are: billionaire financier, convicted tax evader, and leading Democratic campaign contributor Marc Rich; Whitewater scandal figure Susan McDougal; Congressional Post Office Scandal figure and former Democratic Congressman Dan Rostenkowski; convicted bank fraud, sexual assault and child porn perpetrator and former Democratic Congressman Melvin Reynolds; and convicted drug felon Roger Clinton, the President's half-brother.

Yesterday:

The Bush daughters leave gift baskets in the White House bedrooms for the Obama daughters, containing flowers, candy, stuffed animals, DVD's and CD's, and heartfelt notes of encouragement and advice for the young girls on how to prepare for their new lives in the White House.

Eight years ago Yesterday:

Clinton and Gore staffers rip computer wires and electrical outlets from the White House walls, stuff piles of notebook papers into the White House toilets, systematically remove the letter "W" from every computer key-pad in the entire White House, and damage several thousand dollars worth of furniture in the White House master bedroom.

The Perfect Storm

See if you can put the pieces of this puzzle together. There are only four parts.

1. Leon Panetta appointed head of the CIA. No law enforcement or Homeland Security experience.

2. BHO signs an executive order on 1-22-09 ordering Gitmo to be closed down within a year. (The liberal preoccupation with this fascinates me!) These bastards can no more be rehabilitated then you can teach a rattlesnake to say the rosary.

3. There are approximately 250 detainees at Gitmo right now. Some of whom have been previously released went on to kill again. Kill Americans I might add! Their own country of origin does not want them back! I guess that should tell us something. Department of Defense spokesman J.D. Gordon said this: "There is an inherent risk in detainee transfers and releases, as over 60 ex-Gitmo detainees have reportedly returned to terrorism".

America must now endure the financial strain of bringing them here and providing legal council which is going to cost the American taxpayer untold millions. Are we not in a financial melt down already? Is this the next Democratic stimulus freak show? Out of 250 detainees you just know some bleeding-heart liberal judge is going to set some of them free. Free to go where? To meld into our American society?

4. Just to add frosting on the cake BHO signs still another executive order to prohibit the use of waterboarding and harsh interrogation techniques by ordering the CIA to follow military rules for questioning prisoners. This executive order is issued even though terrorist's break every rule of the Geneva Convention. Their rule goes something like this, We're cutting off your head. Do want us to start at the throat or the back of your neck? The liberal pollyanna consensus is...if we're nice to them...they'll be nice to us. The truth of the matter is terrorists view this as a sign of weakness. All this does is embolden them.

By the way I wonder how the families who lost love one's on 911 feel about this? Now put the four pieces of this puzzle together and what do you see?

I see the horizon and hear the unmistakable low rumblings of thunder. In the distance lightning flashes white neon branches in a black sky. The coming together of the perfect storm.

Hope And Change Defined

The manifestation of hope and change is upon us. America asked for it and the media was only to eager to oblige.

Eggs laid during the campaign have incubated and broke through their shell to rear their ugly heads. This is one of them.

Under the watch of President George W. Bush, no American taxpayer funds were permitted to be used to fund foreign family planning groups that either informed, provided referrals or counseling about abortions to individuals. Federal funds were also banned from going to such groups that even talked about abortion in the case of an unplanned pregnancy.

BHO has signed an executive order authorizing the use of federal funds for international groups that perform abortions or provide information on the procedure outside of the U.S.

"President Obama not long ago told the American people that he would support policies to reduce abortions, but today he is effectively guaranteeing more abortions by funding groups that promote abortion as a method of population control," Douglas Johnson, legislative director of the National Right to Life Committee, told The Associated Press.

BHO signed the order one day after the landmark anniversary of Roe v. Wade decision which legalized abortion in America without coverage by the media late Friday afternoon. He signed it late Friday so it would be buried by the media Saturday. As usual the media is there to protect the Messiah! Give him coverage when he needs it. Bury it when he doesn't.

Not only is this morally wrong but in case you haven't heard America is in financial chaos. So we are going to spend federal funds overseas to promote more abortions. This will cost the American taxpayers 460 million dollars! Liberals in their twisted ideology will try to convince you this helps the economy. Killing more babies. Is this the new stimulus plan?

Dead On

(Because its a Democratic brain you'll have to click on it to make it larger)

(This is a response to the previous post.)
Uncle Sucker's America

By Edward Kilbane

Kind of makes me feel real good. We liberals truly are compassionate, loving and sharing people.

Oh by the way, can you empty out your savings account and send it to Washington so we can continue to do good deeds like this? I can't afford to pay anything myself because I just bought a new Prius hybrid and I need it to protect the environment from people like you. It cost $10,000 more than a Chevy Malibu but I'll make it up in gas savings if I drive it for 750,000 miles. OK, I'll be honest, I didn't actually pay for it myself, I got a liars loan to buy it. I don't pay taxes but I'm getting a tax rebate check. This is wonderful. Unfortunately, I have to use it to rent a Washington condo to attend the innaguration next week and then march with Michael Moore and Rosie in some anti-war and pro-choice demonstrations. I spend a lot of my time and energy working on ways to protect my rights to your money instead of doing something really productive like supporting myself through my own efforts. I spent almost all my time leading up to the election registering illegal aliens to vote for Obama. Had to give them most of my pot. If you would just give me all your money now and stop resisting, I wouldn't have to go to all these marches and I could better spend my time watching The View and Oprah on one of my two flat screen TVs. I also need a government grant to go back to college and get an advanced degree in social studies. I hear these degrees are real easy to get if you suck up to all the liberal, socialist "professors". The welfare department needs to hire a lot of people to pass out your money and I want to be a part of it - both giving and receiving! My future looks so bright!

By the way, don't think about becoming a liberal like me. We already have too many liberals that can be supported by hard-working, conservative suckers like you. We can't afford to tip the delicate balance. As long as we have 51% we can continue to vote ourselves your money without killing the goose that lays the welfare eggs. We need you suckers to pay for our rights. I read somewhere that the parasite doesn't kill its host because that would be suicide for him. They just suck enough blood to make their hosts real sick but not kill them. You are a wonderful host and I hope you don't mind being stuck in the minority of conservative, self- supporting, productive citizens who slave away to pay taxes so I can continue to get my free benefits. Oops, shouldn't have used that word "slave". No reparations for you sucker!

Uncle Sucker's America

From Brenda Walker’s Blog:

"Happiness Times Five"–Sudanese Woman Visitor Has QUINTUPLETS In Maryland Hospital–At Your Expense

What is the news slant when a foreign national appears and prevails on an American hospital to help when she proceeds to plop out five little anchor babies? The MSM cheers, of course, as illustrated in the headline from the Washington Post (Below).

The woman called the hospital and said she had traveled from her home in war-torn Sudan to the United States. She was seeking her mother-in-law's blessing of her pregnancy, but now that she was here, she feared there was something wrong — and any trouble would be multiplied by five.

So the staff at Anne Arundel Medical Center told her to come in right away. When physician William Sweeney gave her an ultrasound, it showed all he needed to know: quintuplets at 19 weeks of development.

If mother and children were to survive, the doctor concluded, they would need all the help they could get. That began 11 weeks of intensive treatment involving more than 30 physicians, nurses and other specialists at the hospital in Annapolis.

Yesterday, doctors and the woman's family announced the good news. Mother and the five babies, born Dec. 2, were just fine. They were the first quintuplets in the hospital's 106-year history, the first in Maryland in more than three years. And although they will spend the next three weeks in the medical center's neonatal unit, the prognosis is good. [Happiness Times Five, By William Wan, December 17, 2008]

She travelled all the way from Africa to get a blessing? Right, I believe that. She didn't come to Uncle Sucker's America to avail herself of all the free medical goodies she could grab.

The Post can't get any stupider or more credulous, as it accepts her BS explanation in its effort to create a feel-good diversity story. The paper drops hints about the cost ($1,150 a day for a baby in the intensive care unit) but doesn't remind you to multiply that by FIVE, plus the Post is vague about how much time she spent in the hospital prior to births.

The morning of Dec. 2, doctors went to Malual's room with a wheelchair. But she said no.

"I will not be wheeled to my babies' birth. I will walk," Malual told them. "I am from Sudan, and we walk in Sudan."

How noble of her. However she is quite willing to have the taxpayer's money wheeled in her direction.

The Vibrator

This is a first. I never pass along a joke on my blog, but this one I couldn't resist.

As a woman passed her daughter's closed bedroom
door, she heard a strange buzzing noise coming from
within. Opening the door, she observed her daughter
with a vibrator.

Shocked, she asked: 'what in the world are you
doing?'

The daughter replied: 'mom, I'm thirty-five years
old, unmarried, and this thing is about as close as
I'll ever get to a husband. Please, go away and
leave me alone.'

The next day, the girl's father heard the same buzz
coming from the other side of the closed bedroom
door. Upon entering the room, he observed his
daughter making passionate love to her vibrator.

To his query as to what she was doing, the daughter
said: 'dad I'm thirty-five, unmarried, and this
thing is about as close as I'll ever get to a
husband. Please, go away and leave me alone.'

A couple days later, the wife came home from a
shopping trip,
placed the groceries on the kitchen
counter, and heard that buzzing noise coming from,
of all places, the living room. She entered that
area and observed her husband sitting on the couch,
downing a cold beer, and staring at the TV.

The vibrator was next to him on the couch, buzzing
like crazy.

The wife asked: 'What the
f**k are you doing?'

The husband replied: 'I'm watching football with my
son-in-law.'

Blago...not so dumb?

http://blogs.chicagotribune.com/photos/uncategorized/2008/07/17/cstblago.jpg

Gov Blagojevich knows his phones are tapped yet he continues to make incriminating remarks. On heading the Health and Human Services Department or a top-dollar job running a nonprofit organization he said this: "I've got this thing and it's f-----g golden, and, uh, uh, I'm just not giving it up for f-----g nothing ... I can parachute me there."

On Nov. 10, Blagojevich griped the President-elect - "this motherf----r" - wasn't giving him a cabinet post, yet still expected the governor to appoint Obama's choice for senator. "F--k him. For nothing? F--k him." Obama's advisers were "not willing to give me anything except appreciation," Blagojevich complained the next day to an aide. "F--k them."

This is reminiscent of the Nixon years. You know you're being recorded but you say it anyway.

Senate Democratic Leadership announced they would not seat anyone Blago appointed due to the cloud of suspicion hanging over his head. (I guess, what they really meant was, no white guy was going to be appointed.)

So Blago is just sitting around waiting to be impeached. So what to do?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/telegraph/multimedia/archive/01214/Roland-Burris_1214005f.jpg

Why of course! Appoint Roland Burris and wait for someone to play the race card.

Enter....Al (The race card..What's in your wallet?) Sharpton... and the rest of his crew. They jumped on it quicker then a car company looking for a bailout!

I like this shot. Roland Burris struggles through the crowd like a Black student trying to get into the University of Alabama in 1963. Only to be stopped at the door.

Wait... is that George Wallace?

http://nicedeb.files.wordpress.com/2007/07/happy_harry_reid.jpg

No... its Harry Reid blocking him from being seated. Did I say seated? In all the theatrics you can almost hear the heroic Rosa Parks shouting from the back of the bus. "I'm not giving up my seat."

Blago's probably in the Governor's mansion right now. I can see him laid back in his chair, feet crossed on the top of his desk, drinking a beer, and laughing his ass off.....

By the time they get around to impeach me my term in office will be over with. Come to think of it... so what if they impeach me. Clinton came out of it no worse for wear.

As it looks right now, he might be right!
